Looking for FUN this summer? Look no further! Orange County Schools is proud to offer a well-rounded inexpensive, multi-faceted KIDSCAMP for rising 1st - 6th graders (age 11 limit).Each week is filled with a wide range of activities, such as swimming, movies, outdoor games, music, and arts &crafts. KIDSCAMP is a fun, diverse summer camp experience offering campers a little bit of everything from visitingmuseums and parks to water balloon races and tug-o-war. Campers are placed in coed groups by age and enjoy newfriendships while participating in either planned activities or activities of their choice.Children who attend KIDSCAMP often find themselves developing newhobbies because of the activities they were able to participate in during oursummer camp program. KIDSCAMP has lots of benefits, but perhaps thebest one is that participants build lasting memories. Each day is a chancefor campers to learn to appreciate each other and to appreciate ourenvironment. We want every camper to take home smiles, along withnew skills and new friendships.Our KIDSCAMP is highly successfulbecause of our quality staff. Our staff is selected because of theirenergetic, outgoing, and fun-loving personalities, their ability topositively guide young children, and their desire to make a difference!Staff members participate in a variety of training and skill-buildingactivities, such as First Aid, CPR, Bloodborne Pathogens, Playground Safety,School-Age Certification course or equivalent and B.S.A.C.Based on this training and our stringent screening process, we are happy tosay we have the best staff you could ever want for your child!

KIDSCAMP Features• All of our camp sites have a star rated license in accordance with the North Carolina Division of Child Development and Early Education Standards;• A unique mix of educational and recreational programming;• Weekly field trips;• A low 1:15 ratio of staff to campers ensures indiviual care and attention;• An outstanding camp staff led by experienced recreational/educational professionals with years of camp experience and current CPR and First Aid certification;• Low cost with discounted sibling rates;• Daily afternoon snacks; and• A summer camp T-Shirt

Enrollment Requirement Orange County Schools KIDSCAMP is designed for students who are enrolled in OCS and who have completed kindergarten through grade 5.Registration for rising sixth graders will be accepted through age 11.Lunch and SnacksChildren attending KidsCamp will need to bring a morning snackdaily. Breakfast and lunch will be provided at no cost to campers atboth camp sites through the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP),effective July 19 - August 4, 2017, MONDAY through FRIDAY. Anafternoon snack will be provided daily at both summer camp sites.TransportationTransportation is not provided to camp. However, campers aretransported to field trips via OCS transportation. Weekly field tripsare planned based on the theme for the week. This is subject tochange throughout the summer and we will keep you posted of anychanges. We encourage children to arrive no later than 8:15 a.m.to avoid missing scheduled field trips and other fun opportunities.For your convenience, the final schedule will include departure andreturn times. Field trips are not optional. All campers and all staffattend each trip.

Health ConcernsAny restrictions to your child’s activities, due to health reasons, should be noted on the Emergency and HealthHistory Form.The parent/guardian is responsible for submitting an authorization of medication form to the site coordinator at yourchild’s summer camp site. Be sure that all medications are labeled clearly with your child’s name.All medications must come to us in their original containers. At no time should a child have medication with them oradminister medication without supervision.The Orange County School System does not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, color, national origin, creed, or disadvantaging or handicapping conditions in its educational programs, activities, or em-ployment practices.

2017 Summer Camp Payment Schedule/Information SheetParents are only required to pay the registration fee up front to hold a slot for their child/children. Parents canstart making summer camp required payments on May 15, 2017. The first two weeks are due by June 9, 2017.Please do not send in summer camp weekly fees prior to May 15, 2017.Any money sent before May 15, 2017 will go toward your current after school account, if applicable.DSS subsidy accounts - Current voucher (with signature) must be on file by June 9, 2017. Vouchers are theresponsibility of the parent/guardian/foster parent/DSS Social/Case Worker.Summer Food Service Program (SFSP)- The SFSP will be in effect at both locations, providing breakfast ANDlunch, from June 19 - August 4, 2016, MONDAY - FRIDAY. Parents will need to provide a morning snack.Payment Methods: Check or Money Order made payable to Orange County Schools (OCS)Make checks payable to: Orange County SchoolsMail or Bring to: OCS School Community Relations, 1010 E. Storey Lane, Hillsborough, NC 27278Parents are responsible for the weeks they have signed up for, unless you give a two weeks’ notice in writing. Please adhere to the payment schedule. There will be no charge for July 4, 2017 in observance of the holiday. Confirmation emails will be sent on June 15, 2017 with statements and field trip schedule.

Around the World in 35 Days!In addition to the games, crafts, food adventures, fun facts, stories, cultural explorations, and just plain fun camperswill be engaging in, each week they will splash, float and frolic in the pool at the Sportsplex and take in a movie atthe Northgate Mall theater. Every Wednesday, there will be an exciting weekly theme-linked field trip. Campers willenjoy a variety of guest speakers/presenters and special events across the summer as we embark on a whirlwind triparound the world, becoming globetrotters in our hearts and imaginations.Week 1 - June 19 - 23 - Asia - A River Runs Through ItTravel with us as we visit the largest continent, Asia, where you will find five of the world’s top 10 rivers. This weekwe will unpack our bags in China, Japan and India. We will explore the different traditions and cultures of eachcountry while making exciting crafts and enjoying yummy treats.This week’s Wednesday Expedition: Duke GardensWeek 2 - June 26 - 30 - Australia - G’day Mate!Koalas, kangaroos, and dingoes, oh my! Come along with us as we explore the wonderful continent of Australia,which is the largest island in the world. This is one of the many facts we will learn while getting crafty, sampling localeats, and exploring this continent’s wildlife, leisure activities, and much more.This week’s Wednesday Expedition: Rollerskating at Wheels Fun ParkWeek 3 - July 3, 5-7 - Antarctica - Ice, Ice, Baby!Come with us as we visit the coldest, windiest place on Earth. This week is all about the amazing continent ofAntarctica! Ever heard of the Northern Lights? We have, and we will tell you all about them. This week we willjourney to a place few humans get to visit and even fewer get to live.
