INTRODUCTION Artificial Intelligence in Computer Technology Artificial Intelligence or AI is the technology in computer systems that mimics someof the human abilities and intelligence. Some of these include medical diagnosis, pattern recognition, weather forecast, and many more. The AI is used in voice assistants such as Siri, Google, Alexa, and many more. It will surely expand to other companies as well, and will wipe out millions of jobs. Although this is a saddening fact, businesses must also consider that AI cannot completely replace human workers because at the end of the day, AIs are just machines, and will malfunction from time to time. This will accomplish tasks in an efficient manner. II | C O M P U T E R S C I E N C E & I N FO R M A T I O N T E C H N O L O G Y M AG AZ I NE
ARTICLES Boom of new technology with pandemic -Kanak Joshi CSIT2 II yr Nowadays in this 21st century Along with Food, clothing and house one more this which is becoming very essential day by day its none other than technology. Technology is a tool which has made our work easier, accurate, convenient and most importantly it saves our time. As we are aware about the corona virus which was a very vast pandemic situation ever held in worldwide. So, in this pandemic situation all schools and colleges were closed. A lot students were facing issues related to academics because they were not able to go out of their homes. But due to advancement of technology the students were able to attend their classes very efficiently through a lot of apps like – Google meet, free conference call app, zoom, team and many more such apps. These have helped students and teachers to connect very easily. They don’t feel any kind of distance gaping due to advancement in technology. Like everything has two faces along with a lot of advantages in there are some disadvantages as well. With advancement in technology students are becoming so much addicted towards it. Instead of attending online classes students make misuse of it Like – They start playing games in their mobile phones and laptops and in a lot of apps if students become host so they do misuse of it like they mute their respective faculty members which is not at all a good thing, some students just attend classes for the sake of attendance which is not a concept of launching these useful apps. As we have discussed a lot about boom of technology in today’s era so in last i would like to conclude that use technology for its advantage do not make any kind of misuse of it. NOTE- WE HAVE TO SHORTEN IT WITHIN 150 words Neuralink Nupoor Rajput(CST II year)
“ A fitbit in your skull with tiny wires” -Elon Musk. Imagine you have the ability to command the computerised devices with your mind like downloading knowledge ,streaming and many more. Sounds interesting? Yes. What this technology is and how it can be a boon for human life ,let's have a look. Neuralink, a neurotechnology company of Elon Musk ,aims to create a device that can be implanted in the human brain so that people can merge with software and keep pace with the advancements in artificial intelligence. The device will improve memory and allow direct interfacing with computer devices. The gadget will be so integrated in our brain ,we will feel it is part of us. We will be connected to our computer and even with the brains with similar devices. The easy to install brain computer interface could be used to expand the capabilities of humans changing the way we interact with technology and treat neural and mobility issues. HOW WILL IT WORK? To install a neuralink,a tiny piece of skull is removed and the neuralink is integrated in to sit even with the skull. Since this process needs to be extremely precise. The neuralink team has created a robot for this process. The entire process could take less than an hour.Once the device is get install,it will be able to send and receive electrical signals through your brain and use these to control machines. Our brain send information to different parts of our body using neurons. Neurons in our brain connect with each other to form a network and communicate with help of using chemical signals called neurotransmitters. This reaction generates an electric field by placing electrode nearby you can record these reactions. The electrode translate these signals into an algorithm that computer can read. MONKEY EXPERIMENT The experiment was performed on a monkey in which the coin-sized device was implanted in his skull. The game of PONG was shown to the monkey with the use of a joystick. When he played, the neuralink implanted recorded the electrical activity in his brain. When the joystick was taken away from the monkey, he played the game using only his mind. BOON With the progress in this technology, the betterment in health problems like paralysis treatment, depression has huge hope. It can solve important brain and spine problems. Blindness , insomnia and other mental health issues can be cured. --Nupoor Rajput. CST III yr
Artificial Intelligence and control of Covid-19 - Varun Bairagi (0827CT1062) Millions of people across the world have already started the process of receiving a Covid-19 Vaccines. Even our country India is also Serving vaccines to our Citizens on Daily Record basis. But we can’t imagine that our scientists made up the Vaccines so fast within a year after Covid-19 so, how it can be possible! This will be done by using Artificial Intelligence. The Artificial Intelligence uses historical data for the software to learn and adapt to information patterns in more real time. This technology is also show an important role for discovering new and dangerous variants of Corona Virus. The AI-assisted method predicted 26 potential vaccines that would work against the coronavirus. From those, the scientists identified the best 11 from which to construct a multi-
epitope vaccine, which can attack the spike proteins that the coronavirus uses to bind and penetrate a host cell. Vaccines target the region of the contagion to disrupt the spike protein, neutralizing the ability of the virus to replicate. Never before has mankind witnessed such a race for the development of a vaccine against a pathogen. We have seen that Scientists of almost every country are in the race of vaccine development. The pace of the discovery can be accelerated when we use power of AI. AI is being successfully used in the identification of disease clusters, monitoring of cases, prediction of the future outbreaks, mortality risk, diagnosis of COVID-19.It is only the start of machine evolution there are many projects running for developing the technologies using AI... Living Robots From Frog Stem Cells -YASHIKA KHATRI (CST) What happens when you take cells from frog embryos and use algorithms to develop them into new organisms? Then you will get what scientists termed the world's first \"living machine.\"An evolutionary algorithm creates living machines. Utilizing frog stem cells, scientists have created the world's first living, self-healing robots. These machines are called \"xenobots\" titled after the African clawed frog from which they collect their stem cells, are smaller than a millimeter (0.04 inches) large, and can fit inside human bodies. They can stroll and swim, go without food for
weeks, and they collude in groups. For formulating a living robot the firstly amphibian eggs are microinjected with RNA then 24 hours later the egg covering is peeled off, then stem cells tissue is collected from the embryo. These tissues mold themselves in the shape of a sphere and after 4 days this sphere becomes mobile. They individually move by swimming and later swimming is stimulated by small hair beating on the surface. These individuals can move through diverse environments including this maze and also through narrow capillaries. And the changes can be experienced by their color-changing capability, These groups can move particles in their environment. They can also self-repair themselves when injured. It's a new class of artifact: a living, programmable organism is a soft-body living device and according to the researchers it could have a variety of uses in biomedicine, environment, military use. Also, Xenobots in the future may be adopted to compile microplastics in the ocean, clean up radioactive scrap, transport medicine within people's bodies, or even scrape plaque off our arteries. The xenobots can withstand aquatic environments for days or weeks without any food that makes them suitable for inward drug delivery. All the uses of living robots may sound like a sci-fi movie but in the future, we will see all things turning into reality, and surely new things will also be added to its use as our researchers had said it is a way of opening doors to future advancement in human health and longevity. DON’T FEAR INTELLIGENT MACHINES, WORK WITH THEM This article is based on a ted talk presented by the famous chess player Garry Kasparov, who
was considered to be the world’s best, and who lost his match to the IBM’s super computer, ‘The Deep Blue’. In 1985, he defeated 22 of the world’s best chess playing machines and was the Grand master during that age. He was very proud at that time and stated that the machines were weak those days. After 12 years, in 1997 he played two games with the IBM’s super computer The Deep Blue in which he won the first match but lost the second. When he first met Deep Blue, he had a weird feeling, the feeling which we may experience when wetravel on a driverless car for the first time or the feeling we experience on receiving an order from a computer. He wondered on the capabilities of technology. He wondered what a machine can do with him. But when he lost, he was very upset. He worried whether his beloved game of chess was gone. He then understood that he was afraid of his match and he was pretty sureof the fact that his opponent had no such fears. He then thought of playing chess games with computers on his side. Machines have statistics and we have knowledge. His dream came into existence in 1998 in the name of Advanced machines. But its first experience was a failure, since the collaboration of machine power and human brain was not perfect. He came to a formulation that a machine plus a good process plus a weak player is superior to a strong player and even more superior to a machine plus a weak process plus a strong player. The technology is growing at a higher pace and it is our responsibility to grow with it. Nowadays machines can work on their own and reduce manual labor. But we should not worry about it. Instead think of the ways in which we can bring the best out of it for the advancement of humanity. We should never worry about what machines can do today instead worry about what machines cannot do today. Machines have calculation and we have knowledge. Machines have objective and have purpose. We should work for the benefit of the society with machines on our side. The only thing, we as humans can do is, to dream. So let’s dream and achieve big!! IOsH (Internet of Smart Health) Internet of Things (IoT) is an ecosystem of connected physical objects that are accessible through the internet. When devices/objects can represent themselves digitally, they can be
controlled from anywhere. The connectivity then helps us capture more data from more places, ensuring more ways of increasing efficiency and improving safety and IoT security. Internet of Things is transforming the healthcare industry completely by redefining how apps, devices and people interact and connect with each other in delivering healthcare solutions. That is, IoT is constantly offering new tools as well as efficiencies that make up an integrated healthcare system with the view of ensuring patients are cared for better, health care costs are reduced significantly and treatment outcomes are improved. Advantages of smart health: The major advantages of the Internet of Things in that healthcare organizations can take advantage of including the following: Decreased Costs: Patient monitoring can be done on a real- time basis, thus significantly cutting down on unnecessary visits by doctors, hospital stays and re-admissions. Improved Outcomes of Treatment: Connectivity of health care solutions through cloud computing or other virtual infrastructure gives caregivers the ability to access real time information that enables them to make informed decisions as well as offer treatment that is evidence based. Disease Management: When patients are monitored on a continuous basis and health care providers by accessing real time data, diseases are treated before they get out of hand. Reduced Errors: Accurate collection of data, automated workflows combined with data driven decisions are an excellent way of cutting down on waste, reducing system costs and most importantly minimizing on errors. Enhanced Patient Experience: The connectivity of the health care system through the internet of things, places emphasis on the needs of the patient like proactive treatments, improved accuracy when it comes to diagnosis, timely intervention by physicians and enhanced treatment
outcomes result in accountable care that is highly trusted among patients. Enhanced Management of Drugs: Creation as well as management of drugs is a major expense in the healthcare industry. Even then, with IoT processes and devices, it is possible to manage these costs better. Early intervention. Healthy, active people can also get benefited by IoT- driven monitoring their daily activities for well-being. A senior living alone, for example, may want to have a monitoring device that can help to detect a fall or other interruption in blood pressure, blood sugar levels etc. in everyday activity and report it to any immediate responders or family members. For that matter, an active athlete such as a hiker or biker can obtain benefit from such a solution at any age, particularly if it’s available as a piece of wearable technology. Risks of network connected healthcare devices: • Healthcare providers, whether hospitals, doctors’ offices, or insurance companies, collect and maintain an enormous amount of data, which has to be carefully managed and protected. when a nurse or doctor is dealing with a patient’s immediate health issue, IT policy is going to rank second to the care of the patient. • Health Information Exchanges (HIEs), where healthcare information is exchanged electronically across organizations within a region, community, or hospital system, is intended to help healthcare providers have access to important patient information – but again, simply through the exchange of information, such networks put that information at risk. • As part of the digital evolution, patients now want to communicate with their healthcare providers via email, which is notoriously one of the riskiest activities on the Internet. • Mobile apps and websites have begun to play a large part in doctor-patient interactions. Apps provide convenient ways for healthcare providers and patients to exchange
information and engage with each other. But speed and convenience come at a cost: attacks on mobile devices are increasing, and these apps are very hackable. Potentially, they can introduce a door into an organization’s networks and systems, risking data theft, loss, or tampering. According to Arsan’s State of Mobile App Security, 90% of Android Healthcare/Medical apps have been hacked, 22% of which are FDA approved. • Digital patient profiles are becoming more widespread – profiles which, if stolen, can provide cybercriminals with a huge payday. • More and more healthcare information is stored or is passed through the cloud at some point in its lifecycle. While the cloud can offer a great deal of security, because cloud service providers must be able to offer a secure environment, a lack of attention to that issue in the cloud can increase rather than decrease vulnerability. Drone delivery of medicines and vaccines -Nikita Anand (CST III year) Since the pandemic has not only detrimented the human life and property but also varying continuously. “Modern problem requires modern solution”. This is a very true statement which signifies the situation of ongoing renaissance. Keeping in mind the problems related with COVID -19 , Telangana government has introduced the project “Medicine from the sky” , in collaboration with World Economic Forum, NITI Aayog and HealthNet Global (Apollo Hospitals) , as part of which eigth consortia have been selected to undertake BVLOS (Beyond the Visual line of Sight) flights for delivery of medical essential to remote areas. The drones buzzed creating a historic moment on Saturday under the clear blue skies of
Vikarabad , which is 75km away from Hyderabad, ranging over a distance of 500 metres in the district. Bluedart Med Express Consortium, Hepicopter Consortium and CurisFly Consortium demonstrated drone flights. As part of the Digital Sky platform, drone players would be able to avail single window clearance at the click of a button. The platform will have interactive maos that will sport green (free to fly for drones), yellow (require permission) and red (prohibited) zones making it easier for drone players to chart out their trajectory. Marut Drones, which is a part of Hepicopter consortium, with current class of drones can support vaccination by transporting about 2000-5000 doses of vaccines at 2-8 degrees Celsius in one trip over a straight line distance of 20-40 km whereas another drone consortium part, naming, TechEagle drone, can carry 4kg payload and 200 doses of Covid vaccine at 2.4 degree Celsius over 6.6km in 15 mins. Smart glasses -the wearable technology -Jaya Patidar(CST III year) From many years, the primary need for glasses is for improving our vision. But now as we are in developing technological era, the eyeglasses makers and internet are joining forces to make our glasses smarter as well. A device that brings computer screen/ display in front of a person’s eyes in order to present data from background information system. Most interesting fact is that user can observe the environment without distraction. Smart glasses are often also mentioned with term “augumented reality”, which means augumenting (and rienforcing) the existing real world information provided by information system. Most advanced smart glass system can automatically provide information about a target in sight
such as a poduct in hands, information about scenery and even facial recognition of a person coming towards. The user can communicate with the system through voice, signs or finger sweeps. The system should be easy and practical to user and task. This technology offers some potential benefits like lower operational costs, greater operational efficiency, enhanced productivity, improved health and safety, reduction in routine tasks or those with no added value, remote in-service inspections, increased on-the-job learning. Future Of AI -by Hitakshi Ajmera CI III yr Artificial intelligence is impacting the future of virtually every industry and every human being. Artificial intelligence has acted as the main driver of emerging technologies like big data, robotics and IoT, and it will continue to act as a technological innovator for the foreseeable future. Artificial intelligence is drastically important to our future because AI forms the very foundation
of computer learning. Through AI, computers have the ability to harness massive amounts of data and use their learned intelligence to make optimal decisions and discoveries in fractions of the time that it would take humans. Artificial intelligence is becoming responsible for everything from medical breakthroughs in cancer research to cutting-edge climate change research. • Transportation: Although it could take a decade or more to perfect them, autonomous cars will one day ferry us from place to place. • Manufacturing: AI powered robots work alongside humans to perform a limited range of tasks like assembly and stacking, and predictive analysis sensors keep equipment running smoothly. • Healthcare: In the comparatively AI-nascent field of healthcare, diseases are more quickly and accurately diagnosed, drug discovery is sped up and streamlined, virtual nursing assistants monitor patients and big data analysis helps to create a more personalized patient experience. • Education: Textbooks are digitized with the help of AI, early-stage virtual tutors assist human instructors and facial analysis gauges the emotions of students to help determine who’s struggling or bored and better tailor the experience to their individual needs. • Media: Journalism is harnessing AI, too, and will continue to benefit from it. Bloomberg uses Cyborg technology to help make quick sense of complex financial reports. The Associated Press employs the natural language abilities of Automated Insights to produce 3,700 earning reports stories per year — nearly four times more than in the recent past. • Customer Service: Last but hardly least, Google is working on an AI assistant that can place human-like calls to make appointments at, say, your neighborhood hair salon. In addition to words, the system understands context and nuance. “[AI] is going to change the world more than anything in the history of mankind. More than electricity.”— AI oracle and venture capitalist Dr. Kai-Fu Lee, 2018.The future of AI gets inarguably more interesting, though, as these intelligent agents continue to proliferate, specialize, and proact. Technical Boom in Pandemic -Siddharth joshi, CSIT III yr Emergence of technology was witnessed during the emergence of Industrialisation and grew at fast pace during age of internet but it reached to its pinnacle as we entered THE COVID PANDEMIC. Pandemic of Covid-19 was responsible for age of digitalisation where every chore work was
directed by certain software. From online classes of school to 100 m conference of international meeting, everything has been paced in front of screen. It can be said that pandemic provided a headgear speed to the increases in use of technical and digital platform. It indeed provided a headset to CLOUD computing and Database system into technical world. As world was forced to live in dark dusk separating environment; it was only technical advancement which served as source of communication. This had a great impact and offered a great prospect to enhance ability of Artificial Intelligence. Digital adaptation has taken a quantum leap at both the organisational and industry level. Consumers have moved dramatically towards online channels. Due to such crises all over globe we come across range of technological capabilities that include filling gaps for technology talent, use of advance technologies, and seep in experimenting and innovating. We might presume the fact that technical advancement has paved their way to become basic necessity of human life. The transformations that were accepted to be achieved decades later have seen to execute in last two years. Hence, we might conclude that technical digitalisation has been a boom and over the ages during pandemic. AI has gone from a science-fiction dream to a critical part of our everyday lives Khushi Pastariya CI III yr “Artificial intelligence will reach human levels by around 2029. Follow that out further to, say, 2045, and we will have multiplied the intelligence – the human biological machine intelligence of our civilization – a billion-fold.” Artificial intelligence (AI) promises to deliver some of the most significant and disruptive
innovations of this century this term to describe a machine's learning, logic, reasoning, perception and creativity which were once considered unique to humans but now replicated by technology and use in every industry. AI makes it possible for machines to learn from experience, adjust to new inputs and perform human-like tasks, from chess-playing computers to self-driving cars, which rely heavily on deep learning and natural language processing. The basic objective of Artificial Intelligence, or the stimulation of cognitive behavior is to enable computers to perform such intellectual tasks as decision making, problem solving, perception, understanding human communication in any language and translating among them. Now a day’s AI is indulged in our daily life like travel navigation, smart home devices, smartphones etc. FUTURE OF AI:- A lot of businesses and people are expecting to see some major breakthroughs in AI in the coming years while Artificial intelligence will transform the global economy, and AI jobs are in high demand. predicts AI may lead to a net increase of 58 million jobs globally. However, we still have to wait for some more years for the time when we can live a fully autonomous life and can call it “Artificial Intelligence future”. There are still a bunch of researchers who are busy exploring various approaches and possibilities that is eventually helping us keep up with AI. A few examples include driverless cars, auto-pilot mode, deep neural networks, and reinforcement learning, fully functional Robots will be seen in action with the help of AI. In general, some of them might take some more time to evolve. Still, it’s been experienced that even in this era of quick AI evolution researchers have gained success in finding surprising ways to improve things by the minute. The future, these robots could help humans in daily living and Hanson Robotics' most advanced human-like robot Sophia personifies people’s dreams for the future of AI. It understands human-robot interactions and their potential service and entertainment applications. The dangers that AI can pose in the future are Invasion of privacy, Autonomous weapons, Loss of human jobs, AI terrorism. MEME CORNER Who in the world actually likes to sit in a boring lecture to learn something as interesting as programming? The “Ah damn it, here we go again!! I have to attend the class today, I have no attendance” attitude will definitely never help one to learn programming. It is something that one has to do with his whole heart. Professional textbooks suggest visual aids such as presentations and videos as tools to better understanding. It is true, to an extent, yet, how many times did we find ourselves dozing off in a lecture that involved presentations? Crisp content in a presentation help us understand concepts better and of course, programming is no exception to that rule. While thinking about these visual aids being short, crispy and to the point, the idea of memes struck my mind. Well, I’m no professional meme maker, but an admirer of funny and interesting memes. I started hunting for memes related to programming. I honestly never thought that I would find an ocean of memes and meme pages. There’s so much content in them that I actually started learning stuff through memes. For instance, I never knew the meaning of the “sudo” command until I saw a meme about it. There’s this interesting meme that I saw about deadlock. An interviewer asked a candidate, “Explain deadlock and we will hire you.” The candidate in turn replied, “Hire me and I’ll explain it to you.” Could there be a better explanation for deadlock? I recently came across a one line meme that said, “I’m going to tell you a joke on UDP but you may not get it!” Interesting, right? These are just samples. There is much much more!! Some meme pages on Instagram actually teach programming like never before. There is a page called “inside code” where there are a lot of posts on optimization techniques along with the brute force approaches. A page called “learn machine learning” has an amazing set of posts that almost teach Machine Learning from scratch!! The conventional ways of learning obviously help lay a strong foundation for our programming knowledge, constant practice does make it better, and
memes provide another perspective from which the (same old) concepts can be seen. If you’re someone who does all these, then congratulations!! You’re a Progra-memer!! Lets’ have a look at some of them! Pro Tip : Always export and send as PDF !
