FOREWORD Nivruti Rai Country Head, Intel India and Vice President, Intel Foundry Services at Intel Corporation “As we step into a new year, it is crucial to look back, take a collective breath and reflect on the changes 2021 has imprinted on the world—whether temporarily or indelibly—in the way we live, conduct business, receive education, and provide medical care. In 2021, we experienced the transformative power of technology and how it can create new beneficial waves of change that will help us make a difference and thrive in the new normal. Going forward, we must not only strive to master emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) to address socio-economic issues but also develop a new-age tech mindset necessary to leverage an expansive digital ecosystem. Collaboration is the key to invigorating India’s economy. To this end, we partnered with government & organization and academic stakeholders to engineer and implement technology programs aimed at bridging the skills gap for future success. Some of what we achieved includes: • Demystifying AI for more than 500,000+ Indian citizens through ‘AI For All’ – potentially the world’s most extensive AI public awareness program in collaboration with the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, and under the Digital India initiative for building an AI-ready India • Empowering more than 250,000+ youth with AI skills and enabling more than 1000+ AI-based indigenous social impact solutions as evidence of achievement in collaboration with CBSE - Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, and NeGD Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY). • Mapping the AI syllabus for classes 6-10 on Intel® AI for Youth and enabling 13,000+ educators with AI skills and proficiencies to help deliver relevant skills to students and prepare them for the future workforce in collaboration with the Central Board of Secondary Education, MoE. • Empowering youth with apprenticeship opportunities in collaboration with global academia and government organizations, and 12 students filed patents for their AI solutions. • Collaborating with NEGD - Ministry of Electronics & IT and United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to launch Digital India Dialogues – a 100 series of workshops to enable 5,000 Government leaders this year on using AI for Good governance. We have already completed six workshops enabling 2176 State and Centre government officials to comprehend the role of AI in streamlining governance processes, enriching decision-making, and improving public service delivery. The goals we have set for our 2030 vision of shared corporate responsibility are: to create a more responsible, inclusive, and sustainable world, while enabling communities with the latest technologies. We believe that these values will further cement our stronghold as a technology leader and contributing member of society. To ensure that access to technology is more transparent, inclusive, and simplified for all, we at Intel India, constantly look inwards, focus on listening to the feedback and learning from the expertise of our ”partner and enterprise ecosystems. 05
