Following are the objectives to be achived by the end of the session To encourage the youth to engage with public issues, understand the common man’s point of view , form their opinions and express it in an articulate manner. To develop and enhance decision making abilities. To instill a respect and tolerance for the views of others To develop an understanding that respect for rules is essential for conducting any discussion systematically and effectively.

RULES AND REGULATIONS The participants shall join the zoom meeting by 8: 45 a.m. sharp Participants may use bilingual language during their speech Participants creating any kind of indiscipline shall be disqualified at the discretion of the judges Participants should adhere to the rules and regulations of the event. The participating schools must ensure a fair representation of students from each class (VI,VII &VIII) The names of the participants to be displayed in the following manner : name of the political party, name of the leader ( ex : INC - RAHUL GANDHI). All participants are required to join the meeting with the profile picture of the portfolio they represent Videos must be switched on throughout the session.
Code of Conduct # 1 Participants are required to wear a decent attire similar to the politician of their constituency Laptops, mobile phones, tablets etc. are #2 allowed but parliamentarians are not allowed to access internet. #3 Any participant caught using internet will be disqualified at that moment itself #4 The participants must abide by the decisions of the Speaker and show faith in his impartiality and judgement #5 The participants are encouraged to tap desks in agreement

PROCEDURE The following procedure shall take place during two days session of Mock Parliament DAY 1 (28 JAN 2021) TIME ❖ Opening Ceremony 9.00 – 10.00 a.m. ❖ National Anthem 10.00 – 10.10 a.m. ❖ Attendance and Oath by 10.10 – 10.20 a.m. ❖the Speaker 10.20 – 10.40 a.m. 10.40 – 11.00 a.m. Statement from the members of the house 1.00 a.m. – 1.00 p.m. Tea Break 1.00 – 1.30 p.m. Session I : Parliamentary discussion 1.30 – 3.00 p.m. 2.30 p.m. ❖ Lunch Break ❖ Session II : Parliamentary ❖d i s c u s s i o n Speaker’s address to end the session
PROCEDURE The following procedure shall take place during two days session of Mock Parliament DAY 2 (29 JAN 2021) TIME ❖ National Anthem and 9.00 – 9.15 a.m. ❖address by the Speaker 9.15 a.m. – 12.15p.m. Session III : Parliamentary 12.15 – 12.45p.m. discussion 12.45 – 2.30 p.m. ❖ Lunch Break 2.30 – 2.45 p.m. ❖ Session IV : Informal 2.45 – 3.00 p.m. Parliamentary discussion 3.00 p.m. ❖ Tea Break ❖ National Song ❖ Address by the Principal Note: An informal session or adjournment of maximum 15 minutes can be allotted to the house at the sole discretion of the Speaker. The Speaker has the authority to put into effect any order or procedure that the speaker may feel is required for the proper functioning. For the benefit of debate, the speaker has the right to start the second day directly from any point; however the same shall be informed at the end of day 1. The speaker may on the sole discretion amend or form any rule at any time for the benefit of the committee and may call upon the members to raise substantive questions.
PROCEDURE (contd.) As per Lok Sabha procedures, the session of Youth Parliament will start with the the arrival of the Speaker which is announced by the Marshal as “Hon. Members, the Hon. Speaker” Thereafter the entire House stands up. The Speaker before taking his seat first bows to his left, then to his right and then in front of him. The Members from the respective sides also respectfully bow to the chair before taking their seats.” OATH OR AFFIRMATION: The Speaker will take up the procedure of the House in the order in which it is printed in the list of procedure or may take oath collectively.
