2 Grade: 7 Date: October 4 - 8, 2021 Topic: The bass clef Subtopic: The Grand staff Objective: At the end of the lesson you should be able to: 1. Easily identify the bass clef sign from that of the treble clef sign. 2. Draw the bass clef sign both in your note books and your manuscripts. 3. Compare and differentiate between the bass clef and treble clef signs. 4. State which line the bass clef starts on, and the letter name for that line 5. Draw and label the bass staff correctly. 6. State the acronyms used to remember the letters on the lines and in the spaces of the bass staff. 7. Identify the grand staff and state some instruments that use this staff.

6 NB: The middle C is used to separate the bass staff from the treble staff. It is places at the top when using the bass staff while at the bottom when we are using the treble staff. Your tasks: After you have read the notes and watched the videos posted in the Google classroom: 1. Practice drawing some bass clefs in your music books 2. Practice drawing a few in your manuscripts 3. Place one bass clef at the beginning of a new staff and then add the letters on the lines and in the space, remember to put in your acronyms ( feel free to also create some acronyms for the bass staff as well)
