BioGraphy of the late MR ROLAND LOBSAB TOBIL “{Ecclesiastes 3:1-2} For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under the heaven. A time to be born, and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to pluck up what has been planted.” Mr. Roland Lobsab Tobil was born in Accra in the year 1954 to Rtd. Sergeant Major Lobsab Tobil and Lamisi Labehdukni both of blessed memories. He hailed from Tongo in the Upper East Region of Ghana. The father was a police ofcer who retired as the greater Accra regional police commander in the gold coast era while the mother was a seamstress. After living in Accra for a couple of years, he was sent to his home town to live with his uncle Dinduk, where he started and completed his elementary education; form four [middle school] at the Tongo Primary and elementary School. He later joined his parents and travelled to various parts of the country upon government transfers of his dad. After the demise of his mum at a very tender age and being the eldest of his siblings, he took charge of parental responsibilities whenever his father was away from home for ofcial government duties. He later relocated to Accra with his father where he grew up and started life for himself. During this era of starting life on his own was when he met his lovely wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Akosua Tobil. He got married to his wife Mrs. Elizabeth Akosua Tobil a little over forty years ago. He spent a wonderful marriage life with his wife and gave birth to four children namely Mark, John, Isaac and Francis. As a devoted catholic Christian, he saw the need to bless his marriage as required of him in his faith. He had his marriage blessed at St. Charles Luanga Catholic Church Abeka in the year 1997. Growing up, he developed so much interest in the hospitality industry and worked as a hotelier over three decades. This interest of his gave him the motivation to further his education. He attended Accra worker's college where he obtained a certicate in Hospitality industries management. He worked with several hotels and hospitality groups before he got employed at Sanaa Lodge hotels where he worked over two decades and rose to managerial position. He was transferred from Sanaa lodge hotels Accra to the Cape Coast branch when the hotel needed a revamp; after his BURIAL MEMORIAL & THANKSGIVING SERVICE FOR MR. ROLAND LOBSAB TOBIL 02.
commendable service in the Cape Coast branch, he was sent back to the Accra Branch. During his active age, he was very hardworking and saw the need not to engage in one scope of job. This made him establish a wholesale glossary shop where he spent most of his time off work to engage in his businesses. As years passed by, he handed over the shop to his wife and focused more on his profession as a hotelier. He worked for some years as the Manager at Sanaa Lodge hotels after his return to the Accra Branch and went on voluntary retirement. The late Mr Roland Lobsab Tobil, decided to engage in farm making which made him establish a poultry farm where he spent most of his time engaging in farm activities. Few years later, he was employed as a security ofcer at Dezengolf Ghana Limited Accra where he fully retired at age sixty. Before his admission at the hospital which led to his demise, no one could have ever believed or thought of his departure so soon to join our maker but God knows best. Mr. Roland Lobsab Tobil was generally loved and admired by everyone especially his family, because of how he had his family's interest and the interest of others at heart and foremost. Such a humble and meek personality is rare to come by. We say “You have fought a good ght, you have nished the race, you have kept the faith. [2 Timothy 4:7]” Fare thee well, Mr. ROLAND LOBSAB TOBIL BURIAL MEMORIAL & THANKSGIVING SERVICE FOR MR. ROLAND LOBSAB TOBIL 03.
Tribute by Siblings (Family) “I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, look, God's home is now among his people! He will live with them and they will be His people. God Himself will be with them. He will wipe every tier from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever. (Rev. 21:3-4) Oh, dearest loving brother whom we love so much. It still seems and feels like a very bad dream which we are yearning to wake up from. Words cannot describe the trauma and distress that we are going through now. Oh brother, in our sorrow, we acknowledge your wonderful life. Gone but will forever be remembered. Bra Roland as we would usually call him was a father, brother and friend to many, He was very well admired by all in the family. Oh bro, why did you do this to us? We were bonded in very strong unity and togetherness just as brothers and sisters should be. We quite remember when we visited you at your home, we were all happy as a family, so why did you choose to break this bond of unity and togetherness? Oh Roland, this isn't how we planned it. We remember vividly how we used to come to you with our problems and how you always provided satisfactory solutions to them. Now that you are no more, who are we going to consult in times of problems? You indeed exhibited the qualities of an elder brother and lived a life worthy of emulation. You led in the organization of family programs such as traditional weddings and funerals. Even in your sick moments you gave us guidance and showed us the rightful path. Who shall do all these for us now that you're no more. Our prayer is that, the spirit of oneness and unity, which you championed, being our elder brother, will forever remain with us until the glorious day of God's appearing. You will always call us on phone to check up on us if we failed to call you over a period of time. Who then shall call to check up on us now that you're no more. You used to say during your sick days: “is this the son of Tobil who is suffering like this”? And anytime you said this, tears filled our eyes. Brother where has death taken you from us to? We are now alone. We feel very empty, we feel really deserted and we are speechless. Roland, May the Good Lord lead you to father Abraham where you may see Him face to face. May your soul rest in perfect peace until we meet again in the Father's house. Amen Brother Enan Paa Somma BURIAL MEMORIAL & THANKSGIVING SERVICE FOR MR. ROLAND LOBSAB TOBIL 04.
Tribute By Wife MADAM ELIZABETH AKOSUA TOBIL [James1: 17. Every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the father of light. With whom there is no shadow due to change.] Knowing you a little over four decades as my husband I have affectionately called you “Yinba” on a regular day, “Roro” on days I want to pamper you and “Mr. Roo” on days I really wanted to pamper you so I get something in return. This was how we've lived all over these years and you understood our love language so well. Your sudden demise has left me in dismay. Who shall I cling to in times of help, who shall I ever call my companion. Travelling with you in this journey of marriage has been so amazing and never regrettable to me. I will not say our marriage was a perfect one, but the way and manner in which you took to solving misunderstanding and making amends made ours a perfect one. Although we belonged to different Christian denominations, we practised our faith and doctrines separately which never affected our marriage in any way. It rather strengthened us and made us share our experiences together. I had always enjoy joining you to worship in your church anytime it was necessary for me to go with you.It was therefore not surprising when I decided to follow you to church on 26TH Dec to celebrate mass for the sick and aged with you. In fact, that day really gave me a remembrance of how we used to go for mass together anytime I visited you in cape coast. As if that was a form of biding ourselves farewell on that faithful day [26th Dec] You were indeed a man of peace and rejected any form of quarrel and abuse. You were a man of few words and meant your words for action. You needed no man born of a woman except God to make decisions for you or dictate for you. I had always known you to be a trouble free person and would always stay indoors when you had no business outside. How I wish you would have lived longer for us to have spent more time together but death did not permit that to happen. I will forever miss our early morning and midnight pleasantries we shared. My hero is gone forever but I know for sure you've gone to rest with your maker. May the host of angels welcome your soul in heaven. Till we meet again, rest in the bosom of the Lord. Tribute By Children To The Late Mr. Roland Lobsab Tobil And I heard a voice from heaven saying, 'write this: blessed are the dead who from now on die in the Lord.' 'Yes,' says the spirit, they will rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them.' [Revelation 14: 13]. Death has once again crossed our path? Making us speechless and very hard to believe. “Mba”, meaning my father as we all called him was quiet, strict and friendly to us his children. He had a very keen interest in our upbringing especially our education and made sure he provided for us our basic needs so we could become responsible individuals in future. Unfortunately your sudden demise could not make you live longer to see this vision come through with your younger children. It took us sometime for us to really believe you are no more. We miss you dearly. Mba you did not inform us of your departure to your maker, why so sudden? We knew a day like this will denitely come but we least expected it now. God knows best. You never discriminated among your biological and non-biological children. You sought for the welfare of all. We your children have always described you as family man. You reached out and cared for people; That is the way of a mortal man. You were an epitome of discipline and never spared a rod to spoil a child. You were very strong, healthy and active until your long term illness and recent admission at the hospital where you met your untimely death. We knew you to be very charitable and would go the extra mile in offering help to people. Time consciousness was your hallmark and would always prepare ahead when you had program to attend. Your style of worship and active involvement in church activities were very much admiring and you always encouraged us to do same. You always said to us “you know your God and your God knows you” These words of yours we believe kept you to your faith. You developed the habit of reciting the apostle's creed and singing one of your favorite hymns “my soul is longing for your peace” every morning for the past few years. We are very much consoled by this culture of yours, denoting your reunion with your maker. We are grateful to God for your life spent with us. It was a privilege to spend time and space with you as our dad. We are now left with a task of creating a better and prosperous future for ourselves. With God on our side we know we will make it. Go and rest with your maker till we meet again. Mba duon soma! BURIAL MEMORIAL & THANKSGIVING SERVICE FOR MR. ROLAND LOBSAB TOBIL 06.

Tribute By Daughters in-law To The Late Mr. Roland Lobsab Tobil Our father-in-law was a simple and God fearing man. You accepted us and made us your daughters. You were a loving father and a great grandfather to your grandchildren. Your demise was really a complete shock to us. Mma as he affectionately called us. We love you but our father in heaven loves you more. We know that we have indeed lost a good counsellor who was so humble and well composed. Our various encounters with you had been refreshing. Anytime we exchanged morning pleasantries with you, we ended up getting fullled and happy that we are in the right family and had a great father-in- law. Not on any occasion did we hear of any news about anything evil that you had done. Our spouses also continued to speak well of you even after your demise. What a precious gem we have lost. We pray the Lord grants you the peace you deserve and preserve you till we meet again. Mba may your good virtues live on within and outside the family. We will miss your counsel and sense of humour. Oh Mba may you continue to rest in the bosom of our maker. Fare thee well and may you continue to rest in peace. BURIAL MEMORIAL & THANKSGIVING SERVICE FOR MR. ROLAND LOBSAB TOBIL 10.
Tribute By Grandchildren to the late Mr. Roland Lobsab Tobil [Romans 14:7-8. For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone. If we live we live for the Lord and if we die we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord]. It's sad to know you will never be with us again, your voice will no longer he heard but your name will not cease to be mentioned. We love you and cherish you, grandpa, we know we hardly say that but that's the truth. You're not forgotten. Thanks grandpa for teaching us uprightness and honesty. We'll miss those listening ears and mouth that speaks the right words. We know you loved us and you really wanted our success. We will really miss you grandpa. We will never mention our story without mentioning a supportive and encouraging grandfather like you. Loosing you was the last thing we ever thought of, but we are more consoled you're at a better place now. You may no longer be here on earth but we would hold on to the memories of living together. May you nd eternal rest grandpa. Rest well. BURIAL MEMORIAL & THANKSGIVING SERVICE FOR MR. ROLAND LOBSAB TOBIL 11.
Tribute By the St Benedict Catholic Church Ofankor - Accra to the late Mr. Roland Lobsab Tobil When the days of toil is over, When night pains are don e, When the notions of this world are conquered, When the faithful parishioner of God has fought the battle and won the race, When there is surety that the parishioner has contributed his valuable quota; his precious part to the growth of our church community, When the trumpet has not been blown yet, he has been called. His family, his descendants, his friends, his beloved members of this cherished church community, shall weep not but will be happy that, this faithful parishioner has been called to glory. It is unpleasant and sad experience to lose a church member - parishioner. The Late Mr Tobil was a devout Christian, a devoted Catholic and a stalwart defender of the Catholic faith. Long before his ailment, he was very punctual at all church activities and was a friend to all. His Christian life was a force to reckon with; he professed his Catholic faith and held on until his demise. Though, his health was not in good condition, yet, we did nd Mr Tobil on some days in the church worshipping his maker. Although we knew our father and brother, Mr Tobil had been ill for some time, about six years ago; little did we know it was his last days on earth. It was more shocking to absorb his demise shortly, after his last visit to the church, St.Benedict on 26th December, 2022. Nothing last forever even if it is good. We are comforted by the blessed assurance of our Lord Jesus Christ that, in him, we may live again; we are glad you had Jesus Christ as your friend. BURIAL MEMORIAL & THANKSGIVING SERVICE FOR MR. ROLAND LOBSAB TOBIL 12.
Today, we are experiencing a natural phenomenon; our words are swallowed up in grief as we catch the last glimpse of the mortal remains of our dear father and parishioner. It is with deep sense of sorrow that we say a nal good bye. Everything that happens in this world, happens at the time GOD chooses . He set the time for birth and the time for death; Ecclesiastes 3:1. Our father, Late Mr Tobil, the good Lord has called you early to heaven. Mortals as we are, we cry and mourn your sudden departure but we also have consolation by his words that, “He is good all the time and everything He does is good”. Therefore, we thank God and pray that he keeps you in his bosom. We wish we could have spent more time with you, but things do not always work out the way we want. Oh death! When shall thou stop the slaughter, so cruel and cursed you are, many have you gone with.Christians, we are taught to turn our eyes unto Jesus Christ, the hope of our faith; John 16:33. It is our fervent hope and prayer that, the Good Lord will give you a place in His everlasting Kingdom. Fare thee well, Mr Roland Lobsab Tobil, rest in perfect peace. AMEN.
