One to One Time From knitting, to reading, to jigsaws, with the Residents writing letters/ cards, sorting paperwork, walks to chats. Skype & Telephone Calls Skype and telephone calls are proofing very popular with residents, family and friends. It is another way to stay in touch with their loved ones. For example, Liz went from the Bahamas to Columbia in one day. 2|Page

Viva Las Vegas Show & New Friends Unfortunately we couldn’t see the Viva Las Vegas show as planned due to COVID restrictions at Cedar House in Rothley, but we contacted one of our neighbouring care homes who said that they would like to see the show instead. All the residents and staff seemed to have a fabulous time. It’s lovely to help and share experiences with different people. Hopefully this will mean more collaborations in the future and new friends to get to know. ‘Something quite different for a morning’s entertainment .... a bit of Viva Las Vegas with a good sing a long for everyone! Crazy golf was also on the agenda this Emma’s Leaving month. Do Ready, aim, fire!!!!!! Teamwork at Cedar House Multi-tasking… getting ready for the Emma’s Leaving Do! Gestures of Autumn Colours Kindness One theme for this month for the art class was ‘Autumn’. There were lots of orange and green shades. Whilst colouring the residents voted to listen to different musicals e.g. Hairspray. I think the felt tips were moving in time to the music. Every two weeks Katie has decided to bring in a surprise gift for one of our residents. Today Marion received a bunch of flowers and Annette had a sweetie treat. We were treated to a performance by Some of the residents helped the Spiltmilk Dance Company. The kitchen staff to decorate some cakes residents had a fabulous time! for the tea trolley. “‘Somewhere On Sea’ is a brand new, COVID-safe performance made especially for care homes, inspired by the Great British seaside and all the fun that goes with it! Think deck chairs, beach balls, a stick of rock and pesky seagulls. It blends a classic vintage and modern- day seaside feel, with performers wearing striped Victorian bathing suits, jelly shoes and beautiful seaside themed headdresses made from shells, chip forks, plastic fish, ice cream cones and glitter. Baby Celebrations Congratulations to Grace who gave birth to a little girl on Friday 17th September 2021 – Azaylia-Grace Miller, weighing 6.13lbs. Lots of virtual hugs and kisses from the staff and residents xxxx A Busy Day After a busy morning of visitors and pamper sessions at Cedar House in Rothley… it was time to have some lunch.
