What is AMSUN? AMSUN is a students’ association It is the largest individual It is an independent, non- representing the interests and medical students' organization political and non- welfare of the Medical students of The University of Nairobi. in Kenya. governmental association. 1

Its membership is drawn from students pursuing Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from First Year of study, (Level I) to Sixth Year of study, (Level VI) With over 2500 Student Members 2

Medical Students' Social 08 Accountability 09 AMSUN members work alongside medical , public 9 health professionals and other stakeholders to assist in healthcare delivery at the community level through provision of screening, health education and promotion services. They also work as student volunteers for programs & projects run by external organizations with a shared goal of promoting sustainable community health.

The AMSUN Gazette The AMSUN Gazette is a monthly publication by the medical students of the University of Nairobi. With a reach of over 2000 students, it is a great tool 14 that: keeps students abreast of various activities within the school. acts as a useful link between external stakeholders and the medical students creates a platform to nurture the students creative talents such as writing and artwork 12
