1. ZAMAR School of Music and Arts!1.1 My heart for the project We want to see kids and teenagers releasing a new sound on the earth. A soundthat comes from their inside and has the power to change the outside. Music and artsmade out of identity and confidence in who they are and who they are capable to be.We want to be the ones who will speak life and share love while teaching music andarts, our goal is that they will get their identity not from the environment that surroundsthem, but from the truth of who they were created to be.“That I might sing praises to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanksforever!” Psalm 30:12!1.2 Mission ZAMAR School of Music and Arts aims to promote identity, community andopportunity to students in Las Vegas, NV, through the power of music and beauty ofarts.!1.3 Vision The Hebrew word “ZAMAR” means to make music (as a means of praising God). There will be a sound released from our teachers and students that can shape thesociety around them.
Identity is established through the channeling their passions in a safe and lovingenvironment. Community is created by uniting people from various walks of life throughtheir common interest for music and arts. Opportunity is provided for the less fortunatefamilies by offering free lessons through the “one for one” method driving ZAMAR.!1.4 Biblical References“Sing to the Lord a new song! Sing to the Lord all the Earth.” Psalm 86:1!“They desired only that we should remember the poor, the very thing which I also waseager to do.” Galatians 2:10!“Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust inuncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. Let them dogood, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share.” 1 Timothy 6:17-19!Others: • Romans 12: 6-8 • Acts 20:35 • 1 John 3:17-18 • Mark 16: 15!!!
1.5 Location Las Vegas is a city, in the state of Nevada, known primarily for gambling, shopping and night life. Paleo-Indians first arrived 10,000 years ago, Anasazi Indians arrive 8,000 years later, The year 1844 marked the arrival of John C.Fremont. Founded in 1905, Las Vegas was incorporated as a city in 1911. The city wasfounded by ranchers and railroad workers but found that its greatest asset was not itssprings but its casinos. Las Vegas’s embrace of Old West-style freedoms—gamblingand prostitution—provided a favorable environment for organized crime. Nevadaoutlawed gambling in 1910 but the practice continued in speakeasies and illicit casinos.By the time gambling was legalized again in 1931, organized crime already had roots inthe city. Michael Green, a College of Southern Nevada history professor, says that sincethe establishment of Las Vegas, minority groups have been segregated. When LasVegas was forming, the few minorities who came to work on the railroad downtownwere asked to leave the area they set up for living. They moved across the way to thewest side and that’s when segregation started.!!

Las Vegas is a city has more issues than gambling and everything else that LasVegas is known for. In fact, this part of Vegas is actually “used” by tourists from all overthe world, not locals. However, living in a city with an environment of money, glamourand so much success based on appearance and status-quo, can and does influenceminds and behaviors of kids and teenagers that are still forming their personality. All thatscenario leads to an identity crisis where teens struggle to fitting in and are beinghounded by billboard lifestyle. Another fact that aggravate this identity crisis is theabsence of the father figure in the homes. 19% of the families in Las Vegas has afemale householder, no husband present. But the situation is even worst in the poorarea of the city, 50% of the families has a female holder, no husband present.!!!!!!!!!!!!
2. Group identification and target Las Vejas has four major groups of people: white, hispanic, black and asian. There are a to of cultures developing but there is a special emphasis on entertainment. Our target is to reach kids and teenagers from 8 to 18 years old that are interested inmusic and arts.!3. Solution We are founding a business that has the potential and capability to reach the kidsfrom wealthy and needy communities of Las Vegas at the same time. ZAMAR is aschool of music and arts based on a “one for one” business model - for every payingstudent, ZAMAR will give free classes to one kid of the needy community in the area. Our goal is to build those kid’s identity through speaking life and sharing love whileteaching and interacting with the students and the community. All the staff will bechristian and trained to see each student not as they are at the moment but as who theywere created to be. That is why it is essencial that the teacher are christian, they willpartner with the Holy Spirit to be like mentors to the students, seeing them through theFather’s eyes. The “one for one” model is viable because fifty percent of global consumers arewilling to pay more for goods and services from companies that have implementedprograms to give back to society, according to a new study from Nielsen (2013). Today'scostumers aren't just looking for the best price and quality, they expect the companiesthey patronize to do good with their dollars and make a positive impact on the worldaround them. We even did an online survey with our facebook friends that had already
taken music and arts lessons and 71% said that if there was a \"One for one\" music/artsschool in their area, they would choose it because of the cause. ZAMAR will offer painting, voice, guitar, piano and drums lessons. The first twomonths will be our preparation to raise founds and get connected with the community. Atthis phase we will offer private lessons of voice, piano and guitar at our homes or thestudents’. After that, we will have the resources necessary to pay de expenses likebuilding rent, renovation and decoration of our place. We will partner with YWAM Vegas to get connected to the local community. Outstaff will be part of their food distribution to get to know and let us be known in theneedy community. YWAM will be responsible to select the kids that will receive our freelessons. In the building we’ll offer more choices of classes: voice, piano, guitar, drumsand painting. Besides the regular classes and a practice room (placed at the YWAMbase), we'll provide a Guidance Room in our place where the students can talk abouttheir lives, share their worries and problems. We are going to be there for them, to listenand pray.!!!!!!!!
4. Identification of Personal Gifting My gift is Pastor. I am more focused on watching over and caring for the peoplearound me. I am usually attracted to the broken and hurt and I love to see them beingrestored and healed. It is my third project and I seem to always find a way to take careof the poor. It doesn’t matter if there is a money or identity lack, I feel like someone hasto care, someone needs to offer healing to their bodies or/and souls. With ZAMAR withare able to work with both situations, bringing identity to the wealthy and the needy kidsand also opportunities to the kids that are from less fortunate families.5. Personal Role in Research! This is the third time I do the Third Year Project so I tough it would be aninteresting challenge not to lead the group but give others the opportunity to do it. SinceI already knew the steps to follow, I was able to identify someone with leadership skillsin our group and give support to her. Lauren is our leader which make sense, since sheis an apostle. I am now in Marketplace Major and I was glad that we could get intoagreement of developing the idea that is related to what I want to do in the future. It iscalled Social Business. I am called to the Business Mountain and this is what I want todo, business to help others. So my role in that was presenting the concept to the groupand finding ways to make our project viable (numbers detailed on the presentation day),by researches on the topic and financial founding. Which leaded me to my nextresponsibility that was create the business plan for Zamar. To plan how much money towe need to start and maintain the project working without depending completely ofdonations.!
