12 Brooks Transport The Evolution of Brooks Transport 1980’s The first piece of mobile machinery that was ever purchased by Brooks Hire Service was an 8 tonne JEC crane. The machine was located in Perth, and it needed to be transported to Eneabba, some 300kms away. Unable to afford the cost of transport, Doug Brooks decided to drive the crane there himself. After a near miss with a pass- ing truck, it was clear to Doug that he needed to come up with a safe and affordable way to transport his machines. A short time after this, Brooks Hire Service invested in their first prime mover, a White Road Commander. As the business grew, so did their fleet of trucks. 1990’s 2000’s 2010’s Fast forward to 2020 and it was clear that Brooks Hire Service now had the capacity to branch out and establish a national transport business in its own right. Four brand new Volvo FH540 6x4 prime movers were purchased along with several custom made low loader trailers. These vehicles joined the existing fleet of prime movers, tilt tray trucks, and tipper trucks to form Brooks Transport. Brooks Transport is no longer limited to only transporting our own machines. We have the capability to provide a fully rounded freight service for any type of cargo, to 2020 any location in Australia.

Our company was one of the first plant hire companies in Australia to invest in Hybrid machinery which reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. In addition we’ve been actively reducing our own power consumption by installing solar panels and LED lighting at our branches.
