December 2013 • Volume 40, Number 2 • www.illinoisentertainer.com COVER STORY: PANIC! AT THE DISCO 2013 was a very good year for Panic! At The Disco singer/founder Brendon Urie. He's got a hit album, a new bride, a new appreciation for his hometown, Las Vegas. And he loves Olive Garden breadsticks. IE's Tom Lanham shared in the joy. 6 HELLO, MY NAME IS VINNIE '90s alt-rockers Sponge have got a new album and new lease on their career. What they took for granted at the peak of their popularity twenty years ago, they sure do appreciate it now. IE's Carter Moss talked to their lead vocalist Vinnie Dombroski. 10 HELLO, MY NAME IS GARY Guitar gunslinger Gary Hoey has released a new blues album (Deja Blues). Plus he's bringing his annual Christmas show to St. Charles in December. You'd be correct by saying Hoey is man of many faces, but he always lets his guitar do the talking.
