After taking second in region with 8 wins and 3 losses the Girls' Volleyball Team traveled to the state playoffs. At state the girls won their first match, but then lost the next two, eliminating them from the tournament. This summer at Utah State Uni- versity in Logan, a group of boys assembled from all parts of the state to learn about the structure and functions of the U.S. government. It is hoped that from this group will emerge the political and community leaders of the future. Each summer the American 219 Legion Auxiliary sponsors a select group of girls to travel to Southern Utah State College in Cedar City to participate in Girls' State. The girls there, assembled from all over the entire state of Utah, elected all of their city, county, and state officials to learn first-hand the functions and problems of our government. The love for Amer- ica, as well as the friendships found there, truly made it a week to remember.
