‘Music to Make the Soul Sing’ - The Choral Society at the Town Hall on July 15th We have a wonderfully melodious concert planned for you on July 15th. The music has been chosen by the family of our late and much-loved accompanist, Andrew Green. Andrew loved and was involved in music the whole of his life. Erudite, a consummate musician himself, these are amongst his favourite pieces as well as being music choirs universally love too. Parry’s jubilant ‘I was Glad’, movements from Faure’s haunting ‘Requiem’, Stanford’s ethereal ‘Bluebird’, the sheer majesty of pieces from Mendelssohn’s ‘Elijah’, the melodiousness of Mozart’s ‘Ave Verum’, the mindfulness of Monteverdi’s ‘Beatus Vir’, the tranquillity of Lauridsen’s ‘O Magnum Mysterium’, and the exuberance of Jo Beesley’s arrangement of ‘Love Lifts Us Up’ are all here to uplift and ‘make our souls sing’. This will be an extremely popular concert, so please do book your tickets while they are still available, from any choir member (including me of course), the TIC or on-line at congletonchoralsociety.org.uk. Prices held at £15 adults, £12 concessions, and £2 students.
