Colors in Ukrainian art

• In Ukrainian art red, yellow, blue and green colors dominate. • Green is the color of hope and wisdom. It gives a feeling of calm and relaxing. • Red is the most emotionally rich color. It is passion, «life force», courage, anger, war, love. Red is associated with the sun, fire, blood. It raises blood pressure, speeds up the heart rate, makes breathing more frequent. • Yellow is the carrier of the great power of the Sun, a symbol of protection and hope. Also, the color of the God. • Blue symbolizes heaven, eternity, permanence, fidelity. It is considered the color of stability, peace, deep reflection. It is the color of the Virgin Mary.
