COMPONENT OF CPU THERE ARE 6 MAIN COMPONENT OF C.P.U IN COMPUTER 1. CONTROL UNIT 2. ARITHMETIC LOGIC UNITE 3. REGISTERS 4. CACHE 5. BUSES 6. CLOCK
CU (CONTROL UNIT) • A control unit (CU) handles all processor control signals. It directs all input and output flow, fetches code for instructions from microprograms and directs other units and models by providing control and timing signals. • The main function of the control unit is to fetch and execute instructions from the memory of a computer. It receives the input instruction/information from the user and converts it into control signals, which are then given to the CPU for further execution.
ALU (ARITHMETIC-LOGIC UNIT) THE arithmetic-logic unit is the part of a central processing unit that carries out arithmetic and logic operations on the operands in computer. the ALU performs simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and logic operations, such as OR and AND. The memory stores the program's instructions and data.
REGISTERS Registers are a type of computer memory used to quickly accept, store, and transfer data and instructions that are being used immediately by the CPU. Register may hold an instruction, a storage address, or any kind of data.
BUSES A bus is a communication system in computer architecture that transfers data between components inside a computer, or between computers THERE ARE THREE TYPES OF BUSES 1.Control bus 2.Data bus 3. Address bus
CLOCK A clock in CPU represent how many cycle per second can be execute. The clock speed work is to measure the number of cycle are running it is measured in gigahertz.(GH)
