Business Insight Magazine | Issue 12 Page 8 SPECIAL INTERVIEW WITH MANDY LILE ANIL - Mandy Lile is our guest today and it is a pleasure to interview her. Mandy CEO Potency N0. 710, a well-known CBD Skin band in America and an FDA- approved product. I appreciate you taking the time to speak with us, Mandy MANDY - Thank you so much, Anil. I appreciate your kind words ANIL - How are you helping to break the stigma surrounding cannabis and what are your plans for continuing those efforts?

Business Insight Magazine | Issue 12 Page 9 MANDY - The power of cannabis is undeniable. It can be seen in thousands of patient stories as well as the before and after photos of those that have utilized cannabinoid based skincare products such as what we offer at Potency No. 710. Growing up in a cannabis environment and knowing the stigmas surrounding it firsthand has always been one of my driving forces behind normalizing this plant through beauty. My main mission to destigmatize cannabis will always be through producing effective, safe, natural cannabinoid based skincare products that produce results. Aside from that, I provide ongoing cannabis education through the Potency No. 710 Plant Power blog series on our website. I also enjoy provoking conversations surrounding the plant through unique ways such as sparking the conversation with unique body paintings, marketing materials, and much more. I have also created a venture known as The Lifestyles of the High and Happy! The focus of this venture is to provide cannabis education nationwide by promoting a happy and high lifestyle. Not one that is about luxury, but one that is about getting back to our roots and embracing the simplicity of things.

Business Insight Magazine | Issue 12 Page 10 Through this venture, I will be spreading cannabis education while visiting and featuring brands, businesses and accommodations that cater to the cannabis community. This includes cannabis and hemp farm, dispensaries, sound therapists, reiki healers, shamans, and many others. During my travels I will be interviewing thought leaders and business owners as well as working with podcasts and media outlets to spread awareness surrounding all that this plant and the culture surrounding it has to offer.

If so, email [email protected] with the subject line “High and Happy Sponsorship” and more information will be emailed to you! ANIL - We know that you are a leader in the field of cannabinoid infused skin care products, can you tell us more about your passion for cannabis in these topical products? MANDY - I became an aesthetician at a young age, opening my first skincare clinic at only 20 years old. I have always had a passion for natural, plant-based ingredients that proved effective in skincare products. I watched many amazing transformations utilizing the powers of plants, but absolutely nothing compares to the transformations

Business Insight Magazine | Issue 12 Page 12 I have seen since founding Potency No. 710 and adding the superpowers of CBD and CBG to my formulations. Cannabis, like many other things from nature have been suppressed for many decades. Now that we are seeing cannabis reform in many places, we are truly seeing all the magic that this plant offers, and one of them is hempsational benefits for the skin. You can check out some of the Potency No. 710 transformations by clicking on the Before and After link in the website footer at potency710.com!

Business Insight Magazine | Issue 12 Page 13 ANIL - Speaking of CBD and CBG, while we know these offer potent powers, what do you believe is the next most powerful ingredient in your product lineup? MANDY - Green Tea for sure! This powerful antioxidant ingredient offers a plethora of benefits not only for our skin but for our overall health. I love to drink green tea, both hot and cold. I think it is a powerful ingredient both inside and out. Almost all Potency products include green tea, which has been shown to provide moisturization and to offer antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-aging, and many other benefits for our skin. ANIL - What inspires you to keep creating such thought provoking content? MANDY - The drive to create a lifestyle around cannabis comes from what I’ve lived and breathed all my life. I’ve found such balance in this plant from my skin to my mind. And let’s not forget about all the healing it’s brought. I’m led to create content to show the beauty and the art that this plant offers. I created a product and accidentally created a lifestyle and I believe that came about through imagery.

Business Insight Magazine | Issue 12 Page 13 ANIL - Where do you feel the future of the cannabis culture is heading and what is next on the roadmap for Potency No. 710? MANDY - I believe the future of the cannabis culture is a free and united one. It is essential however that we get back to our roots, sooner rather than later. The community I am creating is here to stay and will continue to embrace everything the cannabis culture has always represented which is good vibes, love, and kindness. I foresee the future of cannabis being a freeing one where cannabis will be available everywhere, with craft cannabis growers being the ones that will further cannabis tourism and help to create a lifestyle that offers hempsational benefits for our overall health and wellbeing. As for Potency, we will be continuing to set our intentions higher and developing products that take skincare results and prevention to the next level. We will be furthering our mission with destigmatizing cannabis through education and of course, having a lot of fun and helping others along the way.

Many people have been experiencing life-changing benefits as a result of this mega-trend that has caught the attention of celebrities. It is expected that more celebrities will use CBD for the upcoming Oscars, Grammys, Country Music Awards, Emmys, and other awards shows. CBD does not have any psychotropic effects like tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) does.

Business Insight Magazine | Issue 12 Page 22 American Cannabis Industry: A Look Toward the Future The cannabis industry is expected to reach $30 billion in sales in 2024, another year that promises to be favorable, but unpredictable. In established markets, entrants may face banking and tax obstacles that may hinder their ability to gain a foothold. It is clear that consumer and industry demands for federal legalization are building momentum.

Business Insight Magazine | Issue 12 Page 24 CBD Business Start-Up Guide Hemp and cannabis industries have fast-growing CBD sectors Several people have explored how they can launch a CBD business due to the potential of the CBD industry. Despite its challenges, the industry holds tremendous potential, especially given the changing legal landscape. Cannabis plants and hemp contain over 100 cannabinoids, which include CBD. Although research into its potential medical applications is ongoing, it is thought to offer therapeutic and health benefits. There are several steps involved in the creation of CBD products. Cultivation and harvesting of raw materials are the first steps. Industrial hemp, for example, will require a large amount of cultivating or purchasing to create CBD products. There are various methods that can be used to extract CBD oil from the plant. A company that specializes in extraction can handle this process for you or you can do it yourself. Extracted CBD oil can be sold as a concentrate or infused into various products.

Business Insight Magazine | Issue 12 Page 25 Hemp and cannabis plants contain CBD. Both plants can be used to produce CBD oil products. In contrast to CBD products derived from cannabis, hemp CBD oil does not contain any THC. The cultivation, harvesting, and processing of industrial hemp are legal under federal law because it contains less than 0.3% THC. While marijuana remains illegal at the federal level, cannabis contains more than 0.3% THC. As predicted by BDS Analytics, the U.S. CBD market will hit $30 billion by 2024. In 2018, revenue was $1.9 billion (a 49% increase). Cannabis is being accepted and accepted by society more and more. There are now many gas stations, restaurants, and CVS stores that sell it for pain relief, stress management, and better sleep, among other uses. In 2020, CBD products are likely to be more potent, there are more brick-and- mortar CBD shops, pharmaceutical CBD products will become available, and CBD websites will have more e- commerce options. New businesses can sell CBD in a variety of unique ways. A CBD business requires the same amount of effort and hard work as any other business plus the uncertainty of shifting regulations

Business Insight Magazine | Issue 12 Page 26 The heavy lifting today may be well worth it tomorrow, though, in a fledgling industry projected to thrive. CBD is currently in a gray area because the FDA is still developing regulations. CBD products are tricky to market and sell. Online marketplaces such as Amazon and eBay still have difficulty selling CBD products. In addition, paid ads for CBD products risk account suspensions or bans on social media. You can run your CBD Business ads in Magazines such as Business Insight Magazine a Pro Cannabis Magazine and many other magazines as well in the market. To grow, you must create content that falls under the platform's guidelines. There is no industry with a greater opportunity for growth than CBD. As the cannabis industry grows, CBD is among its fastest-growing sectors. In recent years, hemp CBD products have been proliferating rapidly, especially after the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill. The CBD business is a lucrative one, and there are a lot of people who want to start one. To be successful in the CBD industry, you must combine due diligence with creativity. The time is right for you to build a company that will last, and differentiate yourself from your competitors with a quality product.

Business Insight Magazine | Issue 12 Page 31 Happy and healthy people do the best work By Nikki Fielding There is great discussion around shifting corporate culture to prioritize true well-being, offer better work-life balance, and support for the challenges faced by today’s workforce. As well as a rising tide of talent leading the charge teaching leaders to create a more conscious culture that demonstrates these values. Benefits are just one of the areas that is facing a revolution to provide more value and better access to healthcare for all parties involved. And yet we still aren’t seeing this shift to embrace our sexual health on all levels. Perhaps this is due to the stigma still associated with sexuality, grasping onto past definitions of professionalism, or even resistance to pushing through our own shame and mindset around this topic. At its essence sexual health is healthcare.

Business Insight Magazine | Issue 12 Page 32 Due to chronic stress, environmental toxins, and world events, there has been a significant rise in fertility issues, hormonal imbalances, and associated mental and physical health challenges. Most of us either have struggled personally or know someone very close to us who has struggled with infertility. Such a high price is paid physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and financially by families and people who are simply longing to bring life into this world and share their love with another being. Our bodies are designed to do this. They were not designed to withstand food sources stripped of nutrition and covered in toxic pesticides, bath and body care products loaded with ingredients that disrupt our hormones, and the host of other toxins we encounter environmentally every day. There has been a shift in offering more support for those struggling through corporate benefits as well as more understanding of the need for time off when moving through these challenges. The next shift being called for is directing this support at the root causes behind these issues. Unfortunately, we are conditioned through society, religion, culture, and our upbringing to experience shame around sex or view it as dirty or embarrassing.

Business Insight Magazine | Issue 12 Page 33 All humans are sexual beings. As a species we would quite literally cease to exist if this wasn’t the case. And yet we’ve mostly accepted that sexuality has no place in the workforce and chosen to deny how prevalent sexual trauma and recovery is and all of the ways it affects us in work and life. What if instead we embraced it in ways that were safe for everyone and encouraged and offered healing modalities to help people free themselves from these chains? Have you ever seen one of those people who gets lost in a meal enjoying and savoring every bite? Think Meg Ryan in “When Harry Met Sally” if it was more organic and not staged. Perhaps you are that person! But so many of us are unable to surrender to pleasure to this extent. We simply wouldn’t allow ourselves to let go and not control our response while focusing only on the pleasure. This is frequently due to imbalances in the Sacral Chakra – the center of our emotions responsible for our creativity, sensuality, and connection to experiencing pleasure in all its forms. Healing our sexual energy is necessary to experience more from life itself and to truly connect to a sense of pleasure in all of the amazing experiences available to us on this planet.

Business Insight Magazine | Issue 12 Page 34 Sacred sexuality implies an awareness that sex is the inception of life, of all that is. Without the sexual act, none of us would exist in our physical bodies. It acknowledges that our life force and our sexual energy originate from the same source. The path is simple but profound. There are multiple practices to follow within sacred sexuality, but all are about wholeheartedly celebrating the sacredness of our bodies and desires while bringing these qualities to full consciousness in the shared (or solo) expression of pleasure. Sacred sexuality can help release shame, trauma, and blockages around sex. It rescues and revives the transformative power of our sexual energy and allows us to feel pleasure in all its forms more intensely in the body.

Business Insight Magazine | Issue 12 Page 35 One of the paths to practice Sacred Sexuality is Tantra. There are many misconceptions about this practice. In Western societies it has been hyper-sexualized and to some may be considered synonymous with uninhibited sex. That perspective is selling this ancient healing artform very short as well as being simply untrue. Let’s start with defining Tantra according to Sadhguru: “Tantra literally means a technique or a technology. This is inner technology. These are subjective methods not objective methods…. It is not any different from yoga. It is a limb of Yoga called Tantra Yoga…The compulsive and cyclical nature of the body and mind render themselves a barrier for higher possibilities. Tantra is to go beyond, so that compulsiveness of the body and mind does not keep us trapped in our limitations. It is about learning to use the body, not as oneself, but as a stepping stone to deliver this being to the highest possible dimension.” Tantra is a type of yoga that blends many different techniques including mantra meditation, visualization, mudras, breathwork (pranayama), and initiation to study the inner world through our human bodies. . These techniques and rituals primarily focus on cultivation and build-up of kundalini energy. Once activated the kundalini energy is encouraged to flow up our body’s energy centers and meridians with the end goal to spill out the top of the head (crown chakra) and create enlightenment. The path to enlightenment is never ending. Just like there is more to sexual experiences than the climax, there is much to be said for moving this energy even if one falls short of reaching the always illusive enlightenment. The practice allows us to feel deeply into our bodies and connect to our inner wisdom. As a society many of us are conditioned not to feel.

Business Insight Magazine | Issue 12 Or are simply afraid to do so. It Page 36 can be likened to opening Pandora’s Box. Once that seal is broken there is no telling what unprocessed emotions and trauma may come to light and so many resist this in favor of staying in our comfort zones and the structures, habits, and behaviors we’ve created in an effort to feel safe. The sad reality is that this trauma response cuts us off from the world around us. We lose connection to fully experiencing life through the full spectrum of human emotion. We may feel less sadness and pain, but we also feel less joy, peace, love, and pleasure. We must feel into our emotions to release them. The only way through it is through it. Tantra yoga can be considered more of a moving meditation than a physical workout. Traditional tantra yoga focuses on internal connection and reflection. Physical flexibility, strength, and any prior knowledge of the postures take a backseat to the primary intention of self-knowledge and empowerment. Steps to practice tantra yoga include:

Business Insight Magazine | Issue 12 Page 37 Quiet the mental chatter: Over-thinking will not help. Surrender to your own intuition and allow your body to lead you into the next posture vs. focusing on creating any specific shape. ·Learn to be comfortable with silence: Only in silence can we truly hear how our bodies and spirit are speaking to us. We live in a world of constant distractions and turning off even the music and simply connecting to our breath promotes relaxation. ·Put aside a physical end goal: Improved flexibility, strength, and fitness will be a byproduct of practicing tantra yoga but are not the primary goal. The primary goal is relaxation. To allow our bodies to rest and shut off the fight or flight response so many operate under. When that is done our bodies are capable of doing anything we are willing to learn.

Business Insight Magazine | Issue 12 Page 38 Lean into pleasure: Tantric principles state that all things in life should give pleasure. Everything we do should give us pleasure. We tend to associate pleasure with sex and while they are connected, we are missing the higher perspective of how we can experience pleasure in all areas of life. Follow your own path: Only by better knowing ourselves can we unlearn the conditioning we’ve been faced with and unbecome what society taught us to be. Tap into the subconscious to rediscover our true essence.

Business Insight Magazine | Issue 12 Page 39 While I am not suggesting that companies offer Sacred Sexuality workshops at the office (although perhaps they should consider it and people may have a little more interest in returning to office with that on the agenda)! But rather that we lean into discussions about how these healing modalities that have proven effective for so many generations can be made more accessible to the workforce through their employers. Just as many companies are providing resources for infertility journeys, where can we provide resources for healing sexual trauma? There is a growing number of people who specialize in womb healing, tantra, sacred sexuality, and offer services in sex therapy or sex coaching. My ask is that we embody courage to bring these conversations to the forefront. Benefits provided are often driven by what’s expected OR by demand. Companies are competing to attract and retain top talent and are eager to differentiate themselves from other groups. Just like with job seeking, the true power is with the workforce. If more of the workforce are willing to approach Human Resources and express interest in having alternative healing modalities and resources to recover from sexual trauma offered as a benefit, there is a high likelihood that leadership will listen. Securing top talent is essential to continued success in today’s dynamic environment. Top talent deserves the best from the companies they choose to work for. And every human being has the potential to be top talent in their area of expertise. Perhaps they simply need to heal further to remember who they are, find that confidence, and allow their gifts to shine.

Business Insight Magazine | Issue 12 Page 43 Small Businesses and Tax Cuts and Jobs Act TCJA (Tax Cuts and Jobs Act) may profoundly impact your business if you don't understand its basics. The following information should be helpful to you. December 2017 saw the enactment of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. C corporations only pay 21% tax at the top rate, a reduction from 35%. In addition to S corporations and partnerships, the TCJA also altered the sole proprietorship and partnership tax system. By lowering the maximum tax rate to 29.6%, certain taxpayers are able to save more money. Small businesses, however, often suffer from the TCJA's other changes. A lower tax bill – If you have a C corporation, the TCJA reduces your tax bill by 14%. S corporations, partnerships, or sole proprietorships may also owe less in taxes. The TCJA's elimination of deductions, however, often results in increased tax payments, as the Janus Henderson Investors survey showed. Interest deductions for small businesses Before the TCJA, certain business debts could be fully deducted for interest.

Business Insight Magazine | Issue 12 Page 44 Interest deductions for small businesses A company's interest payment or accrual is limited to 30% under the TCJA. It is possible for you to deduct 30% of your adjusted taxable income, plus your business interest income. Floor plan financing interest may also be added if applicable. Your tax liability may increase due to this smaller deduction. Reductions in net operating losses Traditionally, the entirety of your net operating loss was deductible. Losses carried forward for 20 years could be carried back for two years. Net operating losses are now limited to at most 80% under TCJA. Additionally, unused losses cannot be carried back. Carrying them forward is now unlimited. Nevertheless, the effect can be a smaller deduction, which results in a higher tax bill.

Business Insight Magazine | Issue 12 Page 45 In order to cover the difference between debts owed to the IRS, 56% of higher-income households drew money from a checking or savings account. A tax refund of under $100,000 was expected to be saved by 38% of households with incomes less than $100,000, while it was spent by 23%. Also included in the survey was an examination of how refunds were used by respondents. In the survey, 22% of respondents expressed a desire to reduce their debts with their refunds. Emergency funds were the second most important priority (15%). High-income households also prioritized those, officials said.

Business Insight Magazine | Issue 12 Page 46 A guide to minimizing business insurance risks Small business owners should be aware of these insurance risks As a small business owner, you are exposed to certain risks. Fallout from a problem needs to be handled with safeguards. A proper planning and insurance coverage can mitigate pitfalls and challenges, even if they cannot be avoided. An operational perspective: In operation risk, you address your business's daily dealings, such as handling equipment, workers, and customers. Your business operations will be protected from outside events, such as natural disasters, when you insure tangible assets like equipment and property. Plan of action: When you or other companies tamper with the strategy of your business, you are putting your business in strategic risk. Developing a specific strategy for your product or service is essential for running a small business. Your strategy runs the risk of being undermined if your competitors outperform you or undercut your prices. To protect your business's assets, like your brand, you need to research your competitors and understand what they're doing. Compliance: Your business's compliance risk lies in the ability to adhere to the rules and regulations outlined by the government or your industry. A few examples include tax burdens, property and zoning laws, distribution laws, and rules and regulations related to your business, such as HIPAA.

Business Insight Magazine | Issue 12 Page 47 Your business's compliance risk lies in the ability to adhere to the rules and regulations outlined by the government or your industry. A few examples include tax burdens, property and zoning laws, distribution laws, and rules and regulations related to your business, such as HIPAA. Keeping up with your industry's latest regulations is essential to eliminating compliance risk. Taxes and other forms of compliance risk can't be insured, but you can understand how your business might be liable by understanding your obligations. A reputational risk: Lastly, reputational risk needs to be considered. To do so, you need to protect your business against security issues, A logo and brand must also be protected.
