Grammar Present Perfect with How long, since and for المضارع التام When we use the present perfect, we can define a period of time before now by considering its duration, with for + a period of time, or by considering its starting point, with since + a point in time. For: تستخدم للحديث عن فترة الزمنية في الماضي We use for to talk about a period of time. For + a period of time. Examples: 1.She has lived here for twenty years. 2.We have taught at this school for a long time. 3.Alice has been married for three months. 4.They have been at the hotel for a week. Since : تستخدم للحديث عن نقطة زمنية محدده او عن الوقت الذي بدا فيه الفعل في الماضي 5
We use since to talk about a specific point in time, or a time when the action started. Since + a point in time Examples: 1.She has lived here since 1980. 2.We have taught at this school since 1965. 3.Alice has been married since 2nd of March. 4.They have been at the hotel since last Tuesday. Already : We use it with affirmative sentences. WORKING WITH WORDS Basic Difference between DO and MAKE Use DO for actions, obligations, and repetitive tasks. Use MAKE for creating or producing something, and for actions you choose to do. DO generally refers to the action itself, and MAKE usually refers to the result. For example, if you “make breakfast,” the result is an omelet!
