Eyebrow Tattoo What is Microblading? Microblading is a form of permanent eyebrow makeup that creates natural, beautiful eyebrows, it is sometimes also referred to as Eyebrow Feathering. Although Microblading and Eyebrow Feathering are considered forms of eyebrow tattooing, the di erence is that that every hair stroke is drawn by the artist with a handheld microblade.  Each eyebrow stroke is manually shaped and blended into the client’s existing eyebrow hair which results in a more natural look. www.mdbrows.com.au

Microblading Melbourne During the Microblading procedure the artist carefully inserts pigment into the outer layer of skin of the eyebrows. It is referred to as “semi-permanent makeup” and can last up to 12-24 months.  The longevity of the microblading pigment is a ected by various factors such as your skin type and lifestyle.  Oily skin for example will retain pigment for a lesser time than non-oily skin. Similarly, excessive sunlight may fade the pigment sooner. After this time, you can return for a ‘touch up’, change the look or shape of your brows or just return to the look of your natural eyebrows. www.mdbrows.com.au

Eyebrow Tattoo Melbourne What is the di erence between Microblading & Eyebrow Feathering? Microblading is considered a form of ‘eyebrow tattooing’ and derives its name from the “micro blade” that is used to manually insert the semi- permanent eyebrow pigment into the outer layer of the eyebrow skin.  This procedure is also commonly referred to as eyebrow feathering. Although some artists may try to distinguish the di erence between Eyebrow Feathering and Microblading by the thickness or the number of strokes applied, essentially it is the same procedure applied with a microblade.  Most artists will use the term microblading or eyebrow feathering interchangeably for this reason. What’s the di erence between Microblading and Eyebrow Tattooing ? Technically Microblading is a form of Eyebrow Tattooing and is only di erentiated when the pigment is applied by the artist using a handheld microblade. When the tattoo or eyebrow pigment is applied via a specialised cosmetic tattoo machine this is then referred to as Eyebrow Tattooing or Cosmetic Tattooing. www.mdbrows.com.au

Cosmetic Tattooing Melbourne In the case of Microblading, as the pigment is manually applied by the artist to the outer layers of the skin it is less suitable for oily skin types and fades sooner than when applied by machine. When a longer lasting eyebrow is desired or for excessively oily skin, eyebrow tattooing or a combination of eyebrow tattooing and Microblading may be the right choice. The Microblading | Eyebrow Tattooing Procedure The Microblading procedure typically requires two appointments. First Appointment In the rst appointment our artists consult with you to determine your facial pro le and preferences for eyebrow shape and colour. The Artist then takes accurate measurements of your facial features using specialised eyebrow measuring tools.  Your eyebrows are then drawn on with a waterproof pencil so that you and our artist can agree on the look of your eyebrow shape before proceeding. The artist then proceeds to create your eyebrows with your chosen shape and colour. There is some mild scabbing and aftercare required, but you will be provided with an ‘aftercare kit’ containing creams, ointments and instructions for aftercare. The eyebrows typically heal completely within 30 days. Second Appointment www.mdbrows.com.au

Skin Needling Melbourne The second appointment is a follow up appointment that is booked at the end of your rst session. It is a “touch up” of the eyebrows that is done approximately 6 weeks after the rst session. This allows time for eyebrows to heal and the ink colour to settle into your skin. This appointment allows the Artist to see how well the colour has settled into your skin and make any additional additions, or touch ups that may be required. Microblading is a form of permanent eyebrow makeup that creates natural, beautiful eyebrows. Although microblading is considered a form of eyebrow tattooing, the di erence is that that every hair stroke is drawn by the artist with a handheld microblade. Each stroke is manually shaped and blended into the client’s existing eyebrow hair which results in natural, beautiful eyebrows. For the rst Microblading session, the entire procedure usually takes about 2 hours. www.mdbrows.com.au

Eyebrow Tattoo Melbourne During this session, we will shape and style your brows and answer any questions you may have. We then follow with pigment colour selection. Once you are satis ed with the design and colour choice, we begin the procedure. You are encouraged to come in for a follow up visit in order to have any minor necessary touch ups. The second Microblading session takes place after 6-8 weeks after the initial session. The eyebrow area will be slightly red after the procedure and the colour will appear darker initially. This is normal and is part of the healing process. The colour may fade by up to 40% as it heals and the shape can heal up to 20% smaller in size once the swelling settles down. In the following days, the eyebrows will continue to be dark and some clients may notice a slight scabbing. www.mdbrows.com.au

Eyebrow Feathering Melbourne The eyebrows will lighten up in colour as it heals. No down time is required after microblading procedure. It takes approximately 7-14 days for the brows to heal over, and about 1 month for the colour to fully set in. Why do I need a touch up session? A touch up session after 6-8 weeks is necessary as everyone heals di erently and outcomes will vary. Certain areas may not pick up during rst session and will need to be re lled. Pigment colour may need to be adjusted, brow thickness and more strokes can be added. Individuals with oily skin often require a deeper shade during the touch up session as the oils tend to lighten the pigment. www.mdbrows.com.au
