Learning Objectives By the end of this session, students will be able to: 1. Create new files and folders. 2. Organize files and folders. 3. Delete files and folders. Resources • video https://youtu.be/zz4g1FHIj2w (10.00) Session Conduction Engage: Ask students what do they do when they have to listen to music or watch a movie. Ask them if we can do these activities on a computer/laptop? Concept introduction: Ask them if they will do math homework in a science notebook. Their answer will be no. For every subject, they will bring a separate notebook. Tell them similarly for storing information on a computer we use files. We can have image files, sound, video, graphics, or text files Tell them how to name a file. How it has two parts. Just like we have two parts in our name (first name and last name). Next, explain how we can organize our computer files in a folder. Show them how we can access files from This PC window.

Concept Demo/Explanation: Show them all the steps given in the book for creating, opening, moving, deleting, renaming, selecting, copying, moving, and restoring deleted files and folders on a computer. Show them how to use shortcut keys too. Concept Practice: Ask the students to complete all the lab activities. Optional Activity: Let them do the do-it-yourself activities from the book. Home Assignments Revise the topic covered. Guided Assignments Ask students to visit https://edu.gcfglobal.org/en/windowsbasics/working-with-files/1/ and practice some of the activities. Evaluation After completing the lesson solve the exercises given in the book.
