Lesson Plan - 1 Computer Science Digital Presentation with MS PowerPoint Topic-Introduction Class: Period: Mode: Classroom/Lab Teacher: ____________________________________________________________________________________ Learning Support Assistant: ____________________________________________________________ S.M.A.R.T. Learning Objectives By the end of this session, students will be able to: 1. Understand the benefits of presentations. 2. Identify the various parts of the MS PowerPoint interface. 3. Create a PowerPoint File 4. Add and delete slides in a presentation. 5. Opening a PowerPoint file. 6. Start a slideshow in PowerPoint. Resources 1. video https://youtu.be/-NzdliQ5ffE?list=PLgXOHfa04hZOK3XIhb-XhbA2B2OiSzG94 (7.54) 2. Use the eContent to show the animated demos of the lesson. Session Conduction Engage: Play some short videos on YouTube in which the presenter is only speaking and some videos which are using animated content. Next, ask students what difference do they find? Which one was more interesting? Did they find any video boring if yes, why? Emphasize how presentations can benefit. While speaking in a public forum if the speaker speaks for a long period of time audience may find it boring. We can avoid it by using a presentation that conveys information from a speaker to an audience. Slides keep an audience's attention during a presentation and provide additional supporting information in textual or graphic format. Concept introduction: There are many tools MS PowerPoint, SlideShare, Google Slides, Keynote, etc for creating a presentation. Use MS PowerPoint to create presentations that

can be used as a 'slide show' on a computer. Each slide is like a page in a book. Students can write their ‘story’, add pictures, sound effects, and videos. Explain the various parts of MS PowerPoint 2019. The interface in the 2016 version may slightly vary. If possible, show the interface of both versions by installing it on the lab computer or by using pictures. In MS PowerPoint by default, the file is saved as .pptx. Tell the difference between the ‘save’ and ‘save-as ‘options. Concept Demo/Explanation: Demonstrate the activities given in the chapter. Create a presentation. Add some new slides with different layouts add some text to the slides. Show how to delete a slide and save the presentation. Close the PowerPoint window without saving the file and ask students to observe what happens. Open a file using the file menu tab and start as a slideshow. Use shortcut keys too. Steps are the same for the 2016 and 2019 versions of MS Office. Concept Practice: Let students create a presentation. The first slide should have AIR POLLUTION as the title and “Trees are the solutions” as a subtitle. Add a new slide add a textbox in it. Ask them to save the file. Optional Activity: Play the video in the resources section. Practical Application: Complete the lab activities given in the chapter. Home Assignments 1. Revise the topic covered. 2. Practice the interactive exercises in Edusoft Smart App. 3. Solve any additional exercises on playground.edusoft.co.in Guided Assignment Ask students https://edu.gcfglobal.org/en/powerpoint/getting-started-with- powerpoint/1/ for further reference. Evaluation After completing the lesson solve the exercises given in the book.

Lesson Plan - 2 Computer Science Digital Presentation with MS PowerPoint Topic- Formatting Class: Period: Mode: Classroom/Lab Teacher: ____________________________________________________________________________________ Learning Support Assistant: ____________________________________________________________ S.M.A.R.T. Learning Objectives By the end of this session, students will be able to: 1. Apply themes in the presentation. 2. Apply solid colour, gradient, pattern, text, and picture as background 3. Format text in a PowerPoint slide. 4. Create a bulleted and numbered list in slides. Resources 1. video https://youtu.be/Eq3H2nPWyJo?list=PLgXOHfa04hZOK3XIhb-XhbA2B2OiSzG94 (9.51) 2. Use the eContent to show the animated demos of the lesson. Session Conduction Engage: Revise the topic covered in the previous class. Ask what is theme. Ask them would they like to change the default theme of the presentation they have created. Using a theme gives your presentation a uniform appearance with minimal effort. Concept introduction: MS PowerPoint 2019 comes with in-built themes options. These themes can be easily applied and removed in presentations. We can further customize the selected theme by changing font and background styles. We can also change the default white background colour of the slides with the ‘Format Background’ option. This option contains a list of Fill options that can be used for applying

different fills: Solid Fill (single colour), Gradient Fill(mix of two or more color), Picture or Texture Fill, and Pattern Fill. Decorate slide text with different font styles, colours, and font sizes. Text can be positioned with vertical and horizontal alignment. We can create a bullet list or number list with different looks. Concept Demo/Explanation: Apply background colour in the slides with Format Background Option. Describe to students what is transparency, how to apply gradient fill using gradient stop, and the other options. How to insert pattern, texture, or picture as background. Apply text formatting with different fonts, colours, cases, add shadow, underline important text. Create some lists in the form of bullets and numbers. Apply different text alignments. Concept Practice: Ask students to create a presentation with two slides. The first slide should have a background with 3 colours gradient fill and the second one should have a picture with 75% transparency. Create another presentation with 4 slides and different background styles (solid colour, pattern, texture, and picture). Let students explore options by right-clicking on the slides. Optional Activity: Play the video in the resources section. Ask students to create a 4 slides presentation to describe themselves. Practical Application: Complete the lab activities given in the chapter. Home Assignments 1. Revise the topic covered. 2. Practice the interactive exercises in Edusoft Smart App. 3. Solve any additional exercises on playground.edusoft.co.in Guided Assignment Ask students https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/remove-or-change-the- current-theme-f1e47128-cea7-42b5-9cb3-790b080d4c83 for further reference.
