TEACHING AND LEARNING WALKS (TLW)The purpose of Teaching and LearningWalks is to examine classroom instructionin a purposeful, collaborative andsystematic manner in order to effectivelyadvance teaching and learning practicewithin your school.Teaching and Learning Walks is an idea Observational data gleaned fromoriginally adapted from the medical purposefully visiting classrooms iscommunity and the education practice of an important data set. PROGRAM DETAILS (Closed Enrolment) ABOUT THE PROGRAMThe Teaching and Learning Walks Program is designed for PreK-12 school andsystems leaders who want to improve their teaching and learning observation andinstructional leadership skills. The aim of the course is to provide a tool for formativeassessment to monitor teaching and learning that includes developing and usingopen-ended rich questions to promote inquiry, discourse and reflective considerationof practice.Your participation in this program will:• Refine your instructional leadership based on research and evidence-based practice• Sharpen your observational skills by learning to use the TIDE framework and protocols• Ensure you can co-construct descriptive indicators for evidence of student learning• Hone your ability to analyze discrete data and layer it with multiple data sources• Develop formative, descriptive feedback for your teaching team’s consideration PROGRAM FEATURES „„ A blended program that comprises of classroom facilitation with a Teaching and Learning Walk practicum along with online reading and assignments „„ Flexible delivery options: this program is delivered onsite at your school or city in Canada and abroad „„ Delivered by OISE Faculty and outstanding education professionals and practitioners „„ Sessions bring latest research and model best practice „„ Upon successful completion of the program, you will receive an OISE Continuing and Professional Learning Certificate of Completion „„ For Ontario-credentialed educators, this program is aligned with the Ontario Leadership Framework and school-level leadership PREK-12 OISE CONTINUING AND PROFESSIONAL LEARNING
