Elisabeth Rees-Johnstone Executive Director, Continuing & Professional Learning, Ontario Institute for Studies in Education UNIVERSIty OF tORONtOElisabeth Rees-Johnstone is Executive Director, Continuing andProfessional Learning at the Ontario Institute for Studies inEducation (OISE)of the University of Toronto. Elisabeth has beenleading in the field of continuing and professional developmentlearning for over 20 years during which time she has held seniorleadership and executive consulting roles, with a foucs on adultlearning and education, across all sectors of education. Formallytrained in PK-12 Curriculum and Instruction, Elisabeth graduatedboth Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education from McGillUniversity (Montreal, Canada) and began her early career as asecondary school teacher with a focus on teaching incarceratedyouth. Her expertise in effective teaching and learning strategiestransferred to adult education environments where Elisabeth bothled and consulted adult/professional learning initiatives and teamsin Canada and abroad for both non-proft and for-profit organizationsand across various industries (Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals,Financial Services, Telecommunications).As a result of her broad professional experience, Elisabethcontinued her formal learning development and graduated Masterof Education (M.Ed.) with a focus on Adult Learning and OrganizationChange from OISE, Univertisty of Toronto (Toronto, Canada). Evelyn WilsonACosnstociniautineg D&irePcrtoofre,ssLeioanranlinLgeaSronliuntgio, ns (PreK-12),Ontario Institute for Studies in EducationUNIVERSIty OF tORONtO Evelyn Wilson is Associate Director Learning Solutions PreK-12 in Continuing and Professional Learning at OISE. Evelyn has three post-secondary degrees from the University of Michigan, Western University and the University of Windsor. She brings an extensive background in education having held positions at several Ontario school boards as a high school teacher, school administrator, consultant and superintendent. Evelyn also worked for the Ministry of Education in the Special Education and Adult and Continuing Education department where she was part of a provincial school improvement project. Her leadership skills have been recognized by the Ontario Supervisory Officials Association of Ontario, for whom she has written curriculum and mentored new Superintendent members. At OISE her prime responsibilities are in the development, implementation and assessment of Ontario College of Teachers accredited courses for teachers in a wide variety of subject areas. The Principal Qualification courses and Practicums are also an important part of her portfolio. In addition, Evelyn works collaboratively with international partners to develop customized leadership courses for school leaders and government officials.

With an outstanding record of research and publication,her work has been supported by the Social Sciences and HumanitiesResearch Council of Canada, the federal Department of Justice, theOntario Ministry of the Attorney General, and the Office of the Ontar-io Provincial Advocate for Children and Youth.Professor Peterson-Badali has a very strong record of academicleadership and service. Kurt and the Education Commons team of OISE are responsible for educational technology, instructional design, and applications and infrastructure supporting all functions of the faculty. This includes research infrastructure and application development, distance and e-learning, unified communications, enterprise services, business intelligence, data centre, and the design, operation and support of advanced technology-enabled academic spaces. As a successful early adopter of cloud services in Canada, he is regularly consulted by the media and organizations as an expert on the transformational power of cloud, cloud security and privacy issues, and effectively moving from strategy to results. Prior to joining the University of Toronto, Kurt held senior management roles at other premier higher education institutions in Canada, including Osgoode Hall Law School and the Schulich School of Business.

KATHI WALLACESDimireccoteorCooufntEyduDcisattrioicnt, School Board Kathi Wallace began her career with the Simcoe County District School Board in 1977 as a teacher at Alliston Union P.S. She went on to teach at Banting Memorial High School and Alliston Union Public School for 11 years before becoming a vice-principal in 1988. She served as vice-principal of Barrie Central Collegiate Institute, Banting Memorial and Barrie North Collegiate Institute. She became principal in 1994 at Banting Memorial and moved to open Bear Creek Secondary School as its first principal. Wallace went on to become a superintendent of education in 2005 and was appointed Director of Education in 2009. Kathi holds an Honours Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Guelph and a Masters of Education degree from the University of Toronto/OISE. Kathi and her husband Robin have three adult sons and 8 grandchildren. Kathi grew up on a farm in Essa Township and attended Cookstown Central P.S. and Banting Memorial High School. Under Kathi’s leadership, the SCDSB has opened 12 new schools. With the Board of Trustees and senior leadership team, Wallace encouraged the exploration of partnership possibilities within school communities, which has resulted in shared use agreements and program opportunities for students. An example is the recently signed memorandum of understanding with Georgian College and Lakehead University to commit to linking the K-12 and post-secondary education systems for international students in Simcoe County. Wallace also led the system through technology infrastructure improvements, including bringing Wi-Fi to all schools and providing laptops to all teachers. In addition to her various leadership roles in the SCDSB she was one of the original members of what is now the Children, Youth and Family Services Coalition of Simcoe County. She has also provided leadership provincially as a member of the Public Council Directors of Education (CODE) Executive Committee, the OSSTF Provincial Bargaining Table, the CODE Stepping Up Committee to mentor new supervisory officers and the Code Refugee Advisory Committee. .
David Wiljer EEUxdneiuvcceuarttsiivioteny, DHTieeraeclchttnhoorlN,ogeytw&orIknnovation,Dr. David Wiljer is a member of the community providing groundbreakingperspectives and inspiring contributions to digital health policy,management, education and evaluation. He is the Executive Director ofEducation, Technology & Innovation at the University Health Network,and former Senior Director of Transformational Education and AcademicAdvancement at CAMH. David is also an Associate Professor in theDepartment of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine and the Institute of HealthPolicy Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto. He is aformer President of the American Association of Cancer Education, andwas the founding Chair of a national working group, the CanadianCommittee for Patient Accessible Electronic Health Records (CCPAEHR),dedicated to involving patients in their EH. He was also an inauguralAssociate Director of the Centre for Health, Wellness and CancerSurvivorship at the Princess Margaret Cancer Program at theUniversity Health Network.His work focuses on patient and health professions education,specifically patient involvement, digitally enabled education andlife-long learning. He has explored the development of large programs,infrastructure, communities, and research initiatives that involvehealth professionals, patients and families in new approaches toeducation and care delivery, including patient portals for providingpatients with access to their health records and social networkingapproaches to promote self-management and self-care.
