Now, with increasing experience, corneal transplant surgeons are refining promising lamellar techniques andaltering procedures to give more predictable results. In deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK), the surgeon removesall corneal tissue down to Descemet’s membrane and the endothelium for patients with keratoconus, ectasia, stromaldystrophies and scarring, offering the potential benefits of better graft survival and improved structural integrity of thecornea. Posterior corneal transplant procedures became a practical reality about 10 years ago and today, the standard ofcare in all isolated endothelial diseases is Descemet’s stripping endothelial keratoplasty (Descemet’s stripping endothelialkeratoplasty DSEK, Descemet’s Stripping Automated Keratoplasty (DSAEK) and Descemet’s Membrane EndothelialKeratoplasty (DMEK).Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty - Indications and Surgical Techniques Dr. Shreesha Kumar 10 min 10 minAnterior Lamellar Keratoplasty - Results and Complications Dr. Mano Ranjan Das 10 minEndothelial Keratoplasty - Indications and Techniques in DSEK Dr. Srinivas K Rao 10 min 20 minEndothelial Keratoplasty (DSAEK & DMEK) andIntralase Enabled Keratoplasty (IEK) Dr. K.S.Siddharthan Discussion IC 17 Retina (IC0000073)Date: 25.7.2015 Hall E Time: 4.30 - 5.30pmUnderstanding OCTs better and simplifiedDr. Pradeep SusvarObjective: Aim of the course is to make the understanding of the OCT more simple in terms of the various instrumentation, identification of the lesions in their respective layers with normal and abnormal changes and the futuristic look at theOCTs widening application.
