WHAT ARE APPRENTICESHIPS? Greene King Pub Partners work in partnership with Lifetime Training to provide government approved work-based training programmes, that provide your team members with the skills they need to succeed in the hospitality industry. The apprenticeships are relevant to specific roles which means that individuals can practice their skills whilst at work, while also gaining a nationally recognised apprenticeship. In England, apprentices will work towards an End Point Assessment, which will be at the end of the course and be undertaken by an independent organisation, much like how passing your driving test works. In Scotland and Wales, assessments will be carried out throughout the duration of the apprenticeship. The new hire incentive is paid through the TAS system. The existing 16-18 incentive is paid through the training provider. HOW ARE LIFETIME SUPPORTING EMPLOYERS SETTING UP TAS ACCOUNTS? The enrolment support and apprentice recruitment team are supporting employers in setting up their TAS accounts and reserving funds. They will administer any small employer enrolment, even those generated by trainers, by having a conversation with the employer and confirming TAS reservations, before the opportunity is approved. Following recent feedback, they will only book enrolment appointments once the funds are reserved and the training agreement has been signed. SETTING UP YOUR TAS ACCOUNT To register your organisation for apprenticeship services you will first need to open an Apprenticeship Service (TAS) account. You will then need to reserve funding for each apprentice you wish to place onto an apprenticeship. Funding for each learner must be reserved within 6 months prior to the apprentice’s start date There is then a 6-month window to sign the learner onto the apprenticeship and add their details to TAS before the reservation expires (If the reservation expires, a new reservation will need to be set up) F or a non-levy payer there is a limit of 10 apprentices per year, for each TAS account Information about the incentive payment scheme is available on the gov website & through the esfa’s youtube channel: Register / Sign in page for TAS: accounts.manage-apprenticeships.service.gov.uk Guidance – Incentive Payments & How to Apply: gov.uk/guidance/incentive-payments-for-hiring-a-new-apprentice#how-to-apply Guidance – Creating & Managing a TAS Account: gov.uk/guidance/manage-apprenticeship-funds ADDITIONAL MATERIAL Registering an account on the Apprenticeship Service: youtu.be/NC3RzRrvgoc Reserving Apprenticeship Funds: youtu.be/mCJxL2ncIrg How to claim an incentive payment once a learner is ‘live’ onTAS: youtu.be/CM1gpZs1N4I 10 GGRREEEENNEEKKIINNGGPPUUBBPPAARRTTNNEERRSSGGUUIIDDEE
