Christwood’s Mission is to help Seniors live with dignity, independence and the assurance of needed physical, spiritual and medical care. Christwood will also foster, sponsor, organize, develop and participate in other activities of a charitable, educational or scientific nature compatible with its Mission.

Welcome to Christwood, the Northshore’s premier Life Plan Community, also known as a Continuing Care Retirement Community. Residents must be at least 60 years of age and able to lead an independent lifestyle with reasonable accommodations in order to move in; then, as their health needs change, they can move into the Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, and Cognitive Memory Care areas of the community at discounted rates. In order to assure this continuum of care, an Entrance Fee is charged. Entrance Fees are based upon the apartment or cottage type and Entrance Fee Plan chosen. We have twelve different premier apartment floor plans here at Christwood with Entrance Fees beginning at $187,300. For those who enjoy cottage life, there are four larger floor plans from which to choose with Entrance Fees beginning at $521,100. Or latest addition in apartment living is the Atrium — twenty-four apartments in two styles: the Hibiscus (1,141 sq. ft.) and the Crepe Myrtle (1,400 sq. ft.). At its center is an atrium complete with fireplace and seating for reading, cards, and dining. Art exhibitions and happy hours are held in this area. Entrance Fees begin at $343,900. TRADITIONAL PLAN Future Christwood residents selecting the Christwood Traditional Entrance Fee Plan will receive a refund upon termination of the Residency Agreement only if the termination occurs within forty-five months of initial occupancy by the resident at Christwood. If termination of the Residency Agreement occurs during the 30 day Rescission Period by the resident, Christwood will make a full refund of the Entrance Fee paid, under the terms and conditions of the Residency Agreement. If the termination of the Residency Agreement occurs after occupancy, prior to the end of the forty-fifth month of occupancy, the amount of the refund due to the resident or the resident’s estate will be the Entrance Fee paid, less a ten percent (10%) sales and processing fee and less an additional two percent (2%) per month for each month of occupancy at Christwood by the resident. RETURN OF CAPITAL PLAN Future Christwood residents selecting the Christwood Return of Capital Entrance Fee Plan will receive a minimum refund upon termination of the Residency Agreement of eighty percent (80%) of the Entrance Fee paid. If termination of the Residency Agreement occurs during the 30 day Rescission Period by the resident, Christwood will make a full refund of the Entrance Fee paid, under the terms and conditions of the Residency Agreement. If the termination of the Residency Agreement occurs after occupancy by the resident, the amount of the refund due to the resident or the resident’s estate will be the fee paid, less a one percent (1%) per month for each month of occupancy at Christwood by the resident, until the guaranteed refund of eighty percent (80%) of the Entrance Fee paid is reached (twenty months). Ten percent (10%) of the Entrance Fee for the Living Accommodation selected is due upon execution of the Residency Agreement. COGNITIVE MEMORY CARE Longleaf at Christwood offers the right amount of support to help each resident live as independently as possible. Christwood consulted with Dr. Jeffrey Keller of the Pennington Biomedical Research Center at Louisiana State University to ensure Longleaf would offer the highest level of cognitive care and the latest innovations in design and programs. Longleaf is licensed by the Department of Health and Hospitals as a Level 3 Adult Residential Care Provider and offers a full range of assisted living support, with a focus on memory care. Our dedicated team of professionals works closely with each resident, their family members and physician to design a customized care plan that meets individual needs and desires. Respectful, compassionate services range from assistance with bathing and grooming to medication administration and more.
