HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY Policy Statement Part 1: Statement of Intent This is the health and safety policy statement of: Carron King PA Support Our health and safety policy is to: - Prevent accidents and cases of work-related ill health - Manage health and safety risks in the workplace - Provide clear instructions and information and adequate training to ensure the provider is competent to do her work - Provide personal protective equipment where necessary - Consult with the client on matters affecting their health and safety - Provide and maintain safe equipment - Ensure safe handling and use of any substances - Maintain safe and healthy working conditions - Implement emergency procedure, including evacuation in case of fire or other significant incident - Review this policy regularly Signed Date Print name Review Date Part 2: Responsibilities for health and safety 1. All customers, clients, client’s family, visitors and volunteers should: - Co-operate with Carron King in health and safety matters - Take reasonable care of their own health and safety; and - Report all health and safety concerns to an appropriate person (Carron King) Part 3: Arrangements for health and safety Risk Assessment - Will complete relevant risk assessments and take action - Will review risk assessments when working habits or conditions change Training - Training will be kept up to date for Carron King - Protective equipment will be provided and used as and when required - Arrangements are in place for remote and lone working. Consultations - I will consult clients routinely on health and safety matters as they arise and formally when I review health and safety Evacuations - I will make sure escape routes are noted on arrival to venues, appointments, and in the client’s home. - Evacuation plans are tested from time to time and updated if necessary October 2021
