Amidst this global pandemic, health of you and your family should be given utmost importance. I request you all to adhere to and perform the safety and social distancing guideline and get used to the 'new normal'. The Indian consumer market situaon is slowly recovering Mr. Pawan Kumar Tyagi & India’s GDP is a sign of the same & overall growth is now Business Unit Head visible. Automobile Industry is on path of recovery post Covid 19 scenario. Certain post COVID factors like Preference to Personal Mobility, Innovave & Intelligent offerings in cars, digital connecvity, Subsidy by government for purchase of Electric Vehicles etc. has led to increase in overall sales across passenger vehicles. Our Anchor customer Tata Motors PV Division in parcular is doing very well. The sales of Nexon, Altroz and Harrier models have picked up and has helped Tata Motors reach No. 3 place in PV Segment behind only to Maru Suzuki and Hyundai Motors. Their Market share has also improved from 4% to 7.5% compared to last year. This trend is expected to connue in the period Dec’20 to Mar’21 as well. This is good sign and it will benefit TACO IPD sales. To reduce dependency on one customer, we are aggressively pursuing business opportunies with other OEM’s. We are successful in securing business from Toyota Kirloskar and Fiat Chrysler in their new upcoming programs. This will ensure connuity of business from exisng customer base. As per the MD’s direcon we need to improve quality front and business front, in quality we should achieve customer PPM below 5 by 2025 and in business front we need to achieve non-TML business growth & entry into Export Business by 2025. As far as the future is considered I feel with the increase in Market share of our anchor customer TATA MOTORS & its new program launches, acquiring of new business from new customers like FORD, DAF PACCAR, OLA Electric & others probable customers, IPD has a very bright future & with your support we can set bold target & achieve greater heights. Tata Autocomp Systems Ltd. Interiors & Plastics Division New Technology & Innovaon What's trending in - Automove Plasc.?? Rohan Janve Engineering / R&D Hinjawadi A report by the American Chemistry Council (ACC) has found that use of plascs and polymer composites has increased from an average of 20 pounds per car in 1960 to 329 pounds in today’s cars, it is expected to further grow by 75% because of their favorable strength-to-weight rao. While the plasc industries have been working to replace a lot of metals used in car manufacturing, they are also well underway with replacing glass used in cars. In fact, almost every car today has polycarbonate headlights and rear lamps. We at IPD, have already implemented metal to plasc conversion in Timing belt cover, engine cover, cylinder head cover etc. In our journey to green and lightweight technologies, team has successfully demonstrated light weighng technologies like Low wall injecon molding targeng weight reducon of pillar trims by ~1.5Kg & door trims by ~ 2Kg also, 20% lighter door panel with Natural fiber PP (NFPP) in partnership with TML. Lexus (One of leading OEMs) aims to make 95% of their cars recyclable & more sustainable by using recyclable plascs, is the reason why they are exploring new and interesng materials including sweet potato, corn and sugarcane as eco-friendly soluons.
