18th Annual Kids Cowboy Up! Exhibition Artwork by members of the Boys and Girls Club of Bartow County and students attending the Hands of Christ After School Program The staff and volunteers of the Booth Western Art Museum are dedicated to fostering a life-long appreciation of art and the American West among our youngest audiences. With this in mind, the Museum is pleased to present the 2021 Kids CowboyUp! exhibition featuring works of art by members of the Boys and Girls Club of Bartow County and the students attending the Hands of Christ After School Program. The Kids CowboyUp! collaboration began in early 2004, with the Museum holding the first exhibition in October of 2004. As part of our community outreach program, the Museum provides these groups with the opportunity to explore the Museum’s collection of Western art through tours and museum resources. Outreach Coordinator Donna Shiver and Museum Educator Holly Smith then bring art lessons and supplies to the group’s facilities where members are invited to create artwork. A portion of this artwork is then chosen to be on display within the museum space. We congratulate the members of these two organizations whose artwork was chosen for this exhibition. Please join us in celebrating these artists in their achievement of creating artwork that expresses imagination, quality craftsmanship, experimentation and creativity!

Students at the Boys and Girls Club of Bartow County Students create a nature themed print inspired by the work of artists Graham Hobart and Nancy Dunlop Cawdrey. Both of these artists often focus on nature as the subject of their work.

Students at Hands of Christ Students create a mask project inspired by the work of artist Graham Hobart. Graham Hobart is known for his unique process that creates high contrast black and white photographs using infrared technology. These masks use a monochromatic color scheme to mimic his technique.
