The school aims not only to improve the physical abilities but also to instill a sense of good sportsmanship in our students. Eventually, it also helps students realise and believe in the fact that winning isn’t import- ant; participation definitely is. Taking part in sports is important for children as it assists in reducing stress and enhancing energy. It also builds healthy bones and muscles, increases fitness, improves sleep, helps in social- ising better, improves cooperation skills, boosts self-confidence and lowers the risk of obesity. With all these aspects and much more in mind, ‘Pioneer’ feels immensely proud to dedicate this issue to the Department of Physical Education that helps Bhavans Abu Dhabi understand the importance of staying healthy – physically and mentally. ‘Pioneer’ thanks Mr. Haneesh Karthikeyan (HoD-Physical Education) and his highly ener- getic team – Ms. Ajitha, Ms. Shijina and Mr. Anil, for all the support in carrying the content of this issue.
