Women should be presented as human beings and not as a human being defined by a man; thus they’re not slaves towards a bias definition, however, some women are harsh towards other women, and this is a fact. WOW is here to ensure that each and every women of WEST is encouraged and empowered by one another by opening insights and providing a different vantages in life as a Modern Career Woman. PAGE 14 WTCSI e-SPORTS The first season of the WEST e-Sports Series is possible through the partnership between the Site Leads, event organizers, Mardi Bautista and Emerzon Arista and tournament sponsor GP Committee (Great Place to Work). The practice game was held last April 6, 2019, 7am, wherein the players from the UC and GTS clashed to take home a cash prize of PHP 3000, sponsored by no other than our Site Lead Head Ms. Kookai Apilado. During the event, logistics were tested and possible roadblocks for the main event were logged to avoid anything that may cause delays during the actual tournament, which will kick off on April 26, 2019. With the practice game, the Site Leads are hoping to attract players from across 2251 IT Hub to team up and join promoting that WEST is not just a place to work but a “Great Place to Work”.

WTCSI E-SPORTS Registrations for the e-League Season 1 Tournament was last April 15 to April 22, 2019. The kick-off on April 26, 2019 will be a qualifying match for all the joining teams, and the winners in the match will determine who will be the top 4 and who will qualify for the playoffs. The first place will not only earn the title of the very first WEST e-Sports champion, they will also get PHP 7000 cash prize. Para kanino ka bumabangon? We Filipinos know this iconic tag line. As for me, this is something that fuels me to get up and s eize each day. Knowing that each day at work are filled with learning, laughter and of course unexpected events. Except for this 1 Friday morning its almost Christmas time, I experienced something really bad at home. Something that will clearly break someone's heart. (cheating is really painful to others guys). The typical response for some will be the inability to go to work, seek refuge from travelling or even shopping. As for me my comfort zone is my workplace, my second home and that is WEST. I have all the right reasons to be happy here, my friends, continuous learning and my leaders who clearly empowered me to use my voice and challenge my potential to the best version I can attain. TERIYAKI FRIED RICE Ingredients: Serving size: 4 people ½ kilo Chicken breast fillet 4 cups cooked rice Teriyaki sauce: ¼ kilo vegetable mix (corn, carrots 1 cup Kikkoman soy sauce and green peas) ½ cup slurry (cornstarch +water 10g red bell pepper (cut into strips) mixture) 1pc lemon 10g ginger (cut into strips) Salt (to taste) Brown sugar (to taste) Pepper (to taste) Cooking oil PAGE 19

PREPARATION: 1. Prepare the teriyaki sauce first: in a pre-heated pan sauté the ginger strips till golden brown or fragrant. Add the slurry mixture and soy sauce. Mix until thick and split the teriyaki sauce in half then set aside to cool down. 2. Marinate the chicken breast fillets using the halved teriyaki sauce, set aside for at least 20 minutes. 3. In a pre-heated pan add the cooking oil, sauté the vegetable mix until tender. 4. Add the cooked rice, teriyaki sauce and season with salt and pepper. Set aside once the vegetable and rice are mixed well. 5. Pan sear the marinated chicken breast, letting each side cook for 2-3 minutes. Avoid moving the meat pieces to ensure you have those nice grill marks. Set aside to let the meat rest. 6. Once the meat has rested (at least 1-2minutes) slice the chicken breast to strips and this will be topping of your chicken teriyaki fried rice. 7. In a pre-heated pan stir fry the strips of bell pepper **Stir fry means to cook over high heat (this will preserve the crispiness of your vegetables) 8.Assemble the dish: Plate the dish by scattering the rice mix and top it with the seared chicken meat pieces along with the stir fried bell pepper. Dash the dish with lemon juice to cut through the richness of the dish. PAGE 20
