We clap our hands exulting In Thine almighty favour; The love divine Which made us Thine Shall keep us Thine for ever. INDUCTION OF CONNEXIONAL AMB OFFICERS PAGE 3
4. By faith we see the glory To which Thou shalt restore us; The Cross despise For that high prize Which Thou hast set before us. And if Thou count us worthy, We each, as dying Stephen, Shall see Thee stand At God’s right hand, To take us up to heaven. Charles Wesley, 1707 -88 2. INTROIT - THE CHURCH CHOIR 3. CALL TO WORSHIP – DIRECTOR, YOUTH DEVELOPMENT MINISTRY O lord our God, how excellent is your name in all the earth; we worship you. With all angels and saints above, we adore you. We acknowledge you to be our creator and Lord. We dedicate ourselves to your service this day and forever that through our proclamation of your Holy Name by our word and deeds, many would come to know you as their Lord and Saviour. Oh loving God give us grace to do this. O worship the Lord in the beauty of Holiness! Bow down before Him! His glory, proclaim; With gold of obedience and increase of lowliness, Kneel and adore Him, the Lord is His name. Amen. HYMN - MHB 74 1. PRAISE to the Holiest in the height, And in the depth be praise: In all His words most wonderful; Most sure in all His ways. 2. O loving wisdom of our God! When all was sin and shame, A second Adam to the fight And to the rescue came. INDUCTION OF CONNEXIONAL AMB OFFICERS PAGE 4
3. O wisest love! that flesh and blood Which did in Adam fail, Should strive afresh against the foe, Should strive and should prevail. 4. And that a higher gift than grace Should flesh and blood refine, God’s Presence, and His very Self And Essence all-divine. 5. O generous love! that He, who smote, In Man for man the foe, The double agony in Man For man should undergo. 6. And in the garden secretly, And on the Cross on high, Should teach His brethren, and inspire To suffer and to die. 7. Praise to the Holiest in the height, And in the depth be praise: In all His words most wonderful; Most sure in all His ways. John Henry Newman, 1801-90 5. PRAYER OF CONFESSION, REDEDICATION AND SUPPLICATION Concluding prayer: O Lord you have founded your Church through the death and the resurrection of your Son and our Lord Jesus Christ on earth. You have promised to abide with it forever. Hear us as in the unity of the Holy Spirit we have come in one accord to make our supplications before you. b. PROCLAMATION The Director, YDM moves the congregation and then presents the officers for induction by saying: The Association of Methodist Brigades Ghana has then permitted in all our societies aided by the Youth Development Ministry for the training of young people in line with the mission and vision of the Church. It has developed from being an organization for the edu- cated youth coming out of schools to embrace all segment of the youth found in our fellowship as Christ Church and has produced and seen various leaders to guide the organization. Such leaders so elected and appointed to lead the Association are inducted into office. The induction service so conducted for them is to create in them awareness that they share in the yoke of the Church’s Leadership and responsibilities of its task of loving, caring and making all mem- bers avowed Disciples of Christ and full members of the Church. This Service also impresses upon them the fact that they are ac- countable to God for their stewardship someday to come. We are here in the name of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit to offer these our young brothers and sisters, duly appointed as officers to lead the Association of Methodist Brigades and their stewardship to God through prayer and dedication. We believe that God will visit them with the Holy Spirit so that they may exercise their office to the admiration of all and to the glory of God in Christ Jesus. Amen. INDUCTION OF CONNEXIONAL AMB OFFICERS PAGE 7

(The Officers to be inducted move in slow march in single file down the aisle to the front) HYMN - MHB 395 1. SAVIOUR, while my heart is tender, I would yield that heart to Thee; All my powers to Thee surrender, Thine, and only Thine to be. 2. Take me now, Lord Jesus, take me; Let my youthful heart be Thine; Thy devoted servant make me; Fill my soul with love divine. 3. Thine I am, O Lord, for ever To Thy service set apart; Suffer me to leave Thee never, Seal Thine image on my heart. Amen. John Burton, 1803 – 77 (All Brigade Officers shall keep standing) THE PRESIDING BISHOP THEN SAYS: Beloved in Christ, God in time past and in every generation called people unto Himself for one Service or the other. His calling not ceas- es and that in our time He continues to call able men and women into service for the building up of the body of Christ. We have gath- ered here today in this holy place to offer our brothers and sisters unto God, who we believe have been called by God Himself into this high office as the Connexional Officers of the Association of Method- ist Brigades Ghana. It is important that before we induct them into office, we pray for our Brothers and Sisters who have been elected by the Association of Methodist Brigades Ghana and adopted by the Youth Development Ministry Directorate, the representatives of the Church for Youth af- fairs. For this is the example our Lord has left for us. In the Scriptures, Jesus never undertook any engagement without committing it into prayer. Luke says Jesus spent the whole night in prayer before appointing his Apostles. The Apostles did same ac- cording to the Acts of Apostles before Paul and Barnabas were sent out. Let us from our hearts pray and commit them to God that his favour will be upon them and that strength would be given for the task ahead. INDUCTION OF CONNEXIONAL AMB OFFICERS PAGE 9
PRESIDING BISHOP PRAYS: Holy Father, we commit into your hands our Brothers and Sisters whom your love, has found them worthy to lead the Association of Method- ist Brigades Ghana. Without you they can do nothing. You have the power to equip the weak for your own glory. Be with them, counsel them and empower them that their time, the Association will know no bounds of development, prosperity and integrity. May they make disciples from among the young people, who will proclaim you to all people with their lives and words through Christ our Lord, Amen. HYMN 386 1. O Thou who camest from above, The pure celestial fire to impart Kindle a flame of sacred love On the mean altar of my heart. 2. There let it for Thy glory burn With inextinguishable blaze, And trembling to its source return, In humble prayer and fervent praise. 3. Jesus, confirm my heart’s desire To work and speak and think for thee; Still let me guard the holy fire, And still stir up thy gift in me. 4. Ready for all Thy perfect will, My acts of faith and love repeat, Till death Thy endless mercies seal, And make the sacrifice complete. Charles Wesley, 1707-88. INDUCTION OF CONNEXIONAL AMB OFFICERS PAGE 10
