Christ Church, Georgetown Drupal Manual 1. Logging In Before you can add or edit content, you need to log in. If you haven't already done so, register as a user or, if applicable, request that your site administrator register you. Go to development site christchurch.sandglass.com/user and enter (www.christchurchgeorgetown.org/user and enter). You will be sent to the User Account page to log‐in. Enter your user name/email address and password and hit ‘Log in’. your User Name: ___________________ Password: ____________________ If you forget your password: On the login page there is a tab called ‘Request a new password’. You must enter your user name or your email address, and the system will send you a new password by email. If you enter your user name, it will send your password to the email address that the system has on file for you.
2. Editor Menu When you login, a new page loads and will include a black bar with your user name at the top. First Row: Content= Lists all content (Pages, (Front Content Slider/Banners, News by Date & Time, Webforms). There is an advanced search filter which allows you to view by specific items (ie. published/non published, content type). You can Add content by clicking on the gray Add content button. Structure= Allows you to view a list of all blocks. Click on the gray Add block to create a new block. Configure= Allows you adjust CK editor features. Help= Basic drupal guide. Second Row: Add content= Allows you to add a new (Basic) page, (Front Content Slider/Banners, News by Date & Time. Find content= Lists all web content (Pages, (Front Content Slider/Banners, News by Date & Time, Webforms). There is an advanced search filter which allows you to view by specific items (ie. published/non published, content type). You can Add content by clicking on the gray Add content button. Add News & Events = For news & events feature. For home page weekly news/event which links to detailed news & events page. Add Slider= Create New front page Front Content Slider/Banner. View Sliders= Allows for advance search of all Front Content Sliders/Banners. Add Sermon= Click to add sermons. (Includes abilities to add audio and PDFs) Add Calendar= This is for updating the Calendar.
3. Edit Content on a Page already on the website Go to page you would like to edit Click on the gray Edit Tab. Within the CK Editor, edit content. When cutting and pasting content, use the Paste to plain text icon (clipboard w T) If you want a header title use click on Format tab and use Heading 2 from the drop down (you must click enter to remove heading 2 for content under heading , otherwise all content below will be heading 2). Use the Normal option for main content Use the Link icon to link text to: * another page within the site * another website * a PDF * an email Make sure you use the Target tab and select New Window (_blank) when linking out to another website or PDF/Word Doc. Click on the gray Save button at bottom left of page to Save (or Preview to view before making official). 4. PDF/Document Upload Within the CK Editor, Click on the Link Icon Click on the gray Browse Server button. This will take you to the File Browser box. You can choose from the list if the PDF/Document has already been uploaded or you can click on the green Upload icon (top left) to upload a new PDF/Document Click on the gray Choose File button which will go to your computer files where the PDF/Document is located. Select the file to upload. Then Click on the Open Button on the lower right corner of the file upload box. You will be taken back to the File Browser box. Click on the 2nd level green Upload icon directly below the gray Choose File button. Your PDF/Document will upload to the list and the file name will appear in the large bottom box. Click on the file name and the Link box will appear. Click on Target tab and select New Window(_blank) when linking away from the website. Click on the green OK button
5. Image Upload Click on the Image icon in the CK editor. An Image Properties box appears. Click on the gray Browse Server button. This will take you to the File Browser box. You can choose from the list of already uploaded images or you can click on the green Upload icon (top left) to upload a new image. Click on the gray Choose File button which will go to your computer files where the image is located. Select the image to upload. Then Click on the Open Button on the lower right corner of the file upload box. You will be taken back to the File Browser box. Click on the 2nd level green Upload icon directly below the gray Choose File button Your image will upload to the list and the image name will appear in the large bottom box. dClick on the image name and an Image Properties box appears. This box allows you to Align, apply a Border, allow for Horizontal and Vertical Spacing but most importantly to keep the site responsive ‐ delete the Width & Height details of the image. You can also link the image to another page, a document/PDF or another website (use the Target feature if linking away fro the website). Please limit the size of your images to 1200 px for a quicker website and files are only allowed in the following formats‐ png, gif, jpg, jpeg. Front Content Slider/Banner size must be at least 2100 px x 670 px. 6. Video Upload 1. Go to your Youtube channel and follow the youtube instructions. 2. Once your video has been uploaded copy the URL in the browser 3. Paste the URL into the Video URL box YOU MUST ALWAYS ENTER SAVE TO SAVE THE DATA TO THE PAGE . Blocks

To Add a Block: Click on the Add Block option located at the top black menu Enter the Block description ‐ stick with Page title, block location, block item (example ‐ AboutBanner or AboutSideImage, AboutSideMenu) Upload Image or Content for block in the CK Editor Scroll down to Basic (default theme) drop down box. * For back page banner, Click on Banner Middle * For right side (menu or image) Click on Content Right * For Home page ‐ Content Bottom Right Scroll down to Show block on specific pages Click on Only listed pages Enter page(s) where the block should appear For Home page enter <front> All other pages enter node/# ‐ I will forward a list of nodes Save block 8. To Edit a Block Go to the page that has the block you want to edit. Hover your curser at the upper right area of the block ‐ a setting wheel will appear Click on the setting wheel and the words Configure block appears Click on Configure block The CK Editor will appear. Add/Edit the block as needed Click on the gray Save block button Structure Link (FYI) This link shows all enabled and disabled blocks, the region they are located and the operations/configurations. You can turn off blocks by clicking on None in the drop down box located under Region. You can also change the hierarchy of what goes where within a region ie ‐ About Side Image should go ABOVE About Side Menu ‐ To do this, place your curser on the bullet next to About Side Image and Drage to re‐order above. Go to bottom of page to Save blocks
9. Add Front Content Slider/Banner The slider for your website must have the following dimensions ‐ 2100 pixels wide by 670 pixels high Click on the Add Slider from the upper black menu Give the slider a title Choose File button and then click on upload button to upload slider image In the Body CK editor, enter brief summary for slider ‐ very brief or the text will run off and be incomplete. Choose Heading 2 for Format Choose the Link icon if Slider/Banner is to link within the site (never use to link out of the website). Click on the gray Save button at bottom left of page to upload. 10. Add Content This is pretty similar to all other work covered other than where the page will link, ie. will it link to another page on the website or will it be a stand alone page with a menu link. Link to another page on the website ‐ 1. Highlight text on the page you want to link 2. Click on the link icon 3. If you know the page title, enter the page you want to link to in the URL box . If you don't know it, Browse the Server which will take you to the website. Click on the page you want to link to. 4. Click on the green OK button 5. SAVE 11. Find Content This has every item created for the website listed. You can filter by content type by clicking on the \"type\" drop down box. You can use this to edit. You can also filter by Title alphabetically by clicking on word \"TITLE\". Once you've found the page you want to edit, go to the far right under \"Operations\" and click on \"edit\". If you click on delete, it will prompt you that this action cannot be undone. Once deleted, it cannot be restored.

Add an Image or File: Important ‐ When adding an image, make sure that the width/height dimensions are left empty. Do not put 0, just delete so the boxes are blank. This will insure that your website stays responsive.

You can make menus sub‐menus as well. You will also be able to add a new menu item by clicking on the \"Add link\" at the top of the page
