Gothic Times AN INSIDE PERSPECTIVE OF THE OUTSIDE
Goth is a subculture that evolved from music but was accepted by depressed and lonely people. Black color became their symbol in society for existence. But what is it all true?
Nah! All black perception wearing a corset, shorts, chains, and knee-high boots overpowers the reality of goth with her bold body language and fierce look. While reality covered with her- self by wearing a sweetheart neckline, a violet mini skirt, work boots and accessorizing herself. Showing her soft and accepting nature.
The goth subculture finds beauty in dark- ness. Night time is when they come alive and when they feel like the best version of themselves. In the picture above, perception is shown smaller than reality because even though the elements of the perceived goth look have some importance, it is a small part of the subculture. Reality on the other hand stands tall and overlooks per- ception with pride be- cause it depicts the true essence, beliefs and dressing prefer- ences of the subculture perfectly.
Goth being a delusional subculture we have been exploited by accepting the color black as a prime way of recognizing them in the crowd. Even if we have both in front, you will still believe in the be- liefs than the truth. Perception and reality of goth having the same attitude and body language do not make it clear for choosing the truth. Although black is a part but can't neglect the dark colors and an interesting personality by treating a body as an art piece.
Keeping the body as an art piece with piercings, tattoos, chokers, hand bands, hair, and makeup is what makes goth attractive. They do have black straight hair and dark make- up which have over- power color dyed hair, graphic eyelin- ers, neutral tone lips with pierced ears. Dark always over- powers the soft side of goth for them to not be accepted by the society but also forming a negative vision for them.
The society meets the perceptive goth of dark aura. Perfectly portrayed the human body with a corset, short shorts with chains, and knee-high booth- eels. Chocker enhancing the clear neck and face with a black smoky eye, edgy eyeliner, and mahog- any red lips. The bossy attitude with soul-piercing eyes around a tense environment no wonder can make one fear goth. That’s what makes the reality of goth hide behind itself.
How can one neglect this innocent soul. Who sat around a tense environment after being neglected, wore her strong work boots suppressing the voices of society wearing a violet mini skirt pairing with black puffy sleeves top, a chockers, and pin earing's. Comforting herself with a pink dyed ponytail match- ing her same color lips with graphic eyeliner.
Reality Perceived
It’s time for reality to shine. It’s time to break ste- reotypes, and help people see the Goth subculture for what it is. Gothic people like to laugh too, but their humour is dark. They romanticize the dark- er things in life. They write beautiful poetry, make alluring art, they are interested in literature and architecture but that entire side of them is over- looked by us all because it’s different. They wear some of the most gorgeous corsets, but also rock the beautiful shades of purple. Not all Goths are broken, or depressed they just prefer the dark- er things in life. Not all Goths are harmful or self – harm either, but this very assumption made by the society constantly pushes them into a dark- er place. The Gothic subculture is beautiful and there’s a lot to explore here, it’s time our mind be- comes a clean slate and we can openly explore all the things the subculture has to offer. It’s time to look at the reality beyond our perception.
