Land art movement emerged in 1960s and 1970s and was associated with Great Britain and The United States. Each tunnel is 18 feet long and 9 feet in dia. Each tunnel reacts differently to the sun. Tippet Rise Art Center Location : Montana Two huge plane rock like structures support- ed on each other at top edge. They provide shelter and shade and they can live empty with out looking like empty buildings. Spiral Jetty (1970) Location : Great Salt Lake, Utah Designer : Robert Smithson It is made entirely of mud, salt crystals and basalt rocks. Both the top and bottom space are used.
