Overview of Business Writing 1.Business writing สาํ คัญอยา่ งไร Formal and Informal Example 1: This is to inform you that your book has been rejected by our company as it was not up to the required standard. In case you would like us to reconsider it, we would suggest that you go over it and make some necessary changes. Example 2: You know that book I wrote? Well, the publishing company rejected it. They thought it was awful. But hey, I did the best I could, and I think it was great. I'm not gonna redo the way they said | 1080. Here’s a list of some of the main differences between informal and formal writing Informal: May use colloquial words to express (kids, guy, awesome, a lot, etc.) Formal: Avoid using colloquial words/ expressions ( substituted with children, man or boy, wonderful, many, etc.)

Informal: may use contractions (can,t, won't, shouldn't, etc) Formal: avoid contractions (write out of full words, cannot, will not, should not) Informal: May use first, second or third person. Formal: Write in third person (except in business letters where person may be used). Informal: may use abbreviated words (Photo, TV, ASAP, etc) Formal: avoid using abbreviated words (use full versions - like photograph, television, etc). Informal: may use imperative voice (e.g. Remember...) Formal: Avoid imperative voice (use Please refer to...) Informal: may use active voice (e.g. we have noticed that...). Formal: use passive voice (e.g. it has been noted that...)

Informal: may use short and simple sentences. Formal: longer and more complex sentences are preferred (short simple sentences reflect poorly on the writer).

2. ทรคิ เด็ดๆของ Business writing The first step in writing a document is choosing the content. To do this effectively ask yourself the following questions: 1.How much information does the reader actually need? 2.If you are asking for information, is your request concise so that the reader knows how to reply? 3.If you are giving information, is your message precise and easy to understand? REMEMBER THAT... \"Using correct language is only a smalı part of effective writing; you need to think about the appropriate information for your document.\"

As a skill, writing requires more planning (before) and editing (after) than speaking When you speak, you can check your listener's understanding by the feedback you receive When you write, this feedback is less immediate, as it takes time for written communication to be exchanged. Useful tips (PLANNING) What does my reader already know about this subject? How much information do they need to know? How much do I present the information in a concise way so that it is easy to understand? EDITING • Is that too much or too little detail for the reader? • Is there any redundant information?, e.g. repetition • Whether a document contains redundant information will depend on: 1. The writer's views of how much information the reader needs 2. The reader's view of their actual needs in term of information

However, to encourage you to think about the right quant. of information for your reader, here are some expressions which give examples of redundant Language. In each phrase put the brackets around the redundant word(s). 1. Advance reservation 2. All meet together 3. Difficult challenge 4. Past experience 5. End result 6. Basic fundamentals 7. Resonate is because 8. Unexpected surprise 3. คํานา่ รูก้ ่อนเรมิ Business writing Useful tips • What does my reader already know about this subject? • How much information do they need to know? • How much do I present the information in a concise way so that it is easy to understand?

Transition: Informal & formal Informal Anyway plus/also but SO ASAP in the meantime I think in the end to sum up, in a nutshell

Formal Notwithstanding moreover/Furthermore however therefore/thus as soon as possible in the interim in my opinion, Finally In conclusion, To summarize
