As they are the passenger’s point ofcontact, the cabin crew is ultimately responsible for selling to them.DFASS SATS recognizes that a 360-degree approach to cabincrew communications will enhance the engagement with them.As a result, “My KrisShop” app has been developed for SingaporeAirlines’ cabin crew which is available for download on Apple AppStore and Google Play. 4 OUR COMMUNITYSATS New Year Party 2018The annual SATS Customer Event: New Year Party 2018 was held on 11January 2018 at Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore (MBCCS). The venuewas decorated to the theme “Spectacular Spectacular” with musical posters androving musical characters. The high kicking Can-Can dancers created a livelyand colourful opening for the party.More than 700 guests and staff were treated to a sumptuous spread preparedby SATS talented chefs. This year, the chefs surprised the guests with anoutdoor live cooking booth at the wharf area, where the guests got to enjoy thedelicacy and panoramic view of Singapore landscape. 10 CREATING MILESTONESMalaysia Airlines (MH) Ground Handling Returns to BGSOn 15 November 2017, Beijing Aviation Ground Services(BGS) reconnected with Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB)for the provision of ground handling services at BeijingCapital International Airport (PEK).The change coincided with Malaysia Airlines’ cutover toa new Departure Control System (DCS), which gave theoccasion even more importance for both the airline andthe ground handler. The operational and administrativechallenges were immense, but the MAB and BGS staffworked extremely hard in the days leading up to thecutover flight, to ensure that all was relatively smooth forthe passengers on the actual day of cutover.MAB Station Head, Mr. Zhang Jing, was very impressedwith BGS’ handling despite the short preparation time, andwrote a compliment to BGS the very next day to praise thestaff’s attitudes and hard work. SATS Asia Pacific Star receives recognition from Cebu Pacific (5J) SATS Asia Pacific Star achieved the “Top of the World” Award for Best Overall Performance (21- 55 weekly flights) from Cebu Pacific (5J), this is the 5th year in a row that the team has achieved this award. The assessment was based on SIN station performance during the 1-year period from October 2016 to September 2017 as compared to other stations in the same category. Station Manager Mr. Timothy Vincent received the award at the 5J Annual Conference in Headquarter and a celebration was held in SIN together with the well- deserved team. SATS Catering recognised with “The Best Corporative Caterer Award” by Xiamen Air! SATS Catering was recognised with the prestigious “The Best Corporative Caterer Award” by Xiamen Air (MF) in recognition of the outstanding performance and service provided. SATS has also sent our Premium Kitchen Executive Sous Chef (ESC) Ivan Yeo, and Chinese ESC Ng Hanglam to participate in a culinary exchange with MF’s team of chefs. MF Director Jiang Xiaoou expressed his delight on the exchange, and commented that their chefs had learnt a lot through this exchange, especially in the western cuisine aspects.
