OUR IMAGE GALLERY The farewell Winestate Celebration dinner that night, Saturday 26th September, was at Les Sources de Caudalie a two star Michelin restaurant. It was preceded by a visit to the family owned Chateau Smith Haut-Lafitte vineyard and winery, a spectacular “knights of the round table” gothic-like structure. It was very enlightening, as they were traditional yet modern and well organized embracing both ends of the spectrum. The tasting room cunningly hid a den and library of historic gems and some very interesting installation art. After tasting their current wines, we proceeded to the hotel and restaurant for our final comments on the tour. This was a fitting climax, with the meal both exquisite and memorable. As it was our last occasion together, we each relayed our own comments on the tour. This was most favourable, and we hoped that it might be a fore-runner to more in the future.
