The IOOF Seniors Homes Inc. has been serving the needs of seniors in Ontario for over 100 years. We are committed to caring for seniors through the development of new and innovative concepts in support programs, health care services and housing initiatives. We are a not-for-profit charitable organization currently operating several facilities in Barrie, Ontario. The organization provides a full continuum of care for seniors from independent living to supportive housing, rent- geared-to-income housing and long-term care. EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we were unable to hold an official 5 YEARS Employee Recognition ceremony this year. Directors personally handed each recipient their gift and thanked them for their continued dedication and Sue Feeney support to the IOOF. This year the IOOF provided staff with 5 years or more Zenie Javier service, with a substantial monetary gift as a token of our appreciation - we Brittany O’Sullivan could not do this without them. HOUSING ACCOMMODATIONS The Housing Accommodations Department is committed to providing exemplary programs and services to ensure our Residents’ retirement years are most enjoyable. HERITAGE PLACE Heritage Place Supportive Housing is a rental at Heritage Place. The remaining seven will be apartment building located at 20 Brooks Street completed in the near future. in Barrie. This package includes a flexible meal plan (with a specified number of meals) and four and a half hours of support services, which comprise of a combination of housekeeping and laundry services. Assistance with personal care, and bathing is determined based on needs identified by an Inter RAI Community Health Assessment. Medication monitoring and shopping assistance are also available. IOOF - RVH PARTNERSHIP In 2018, the Corporation renovated the upper floor of the south wing, Mapleview. This wing had not been occupied since 2009 when the north wing opened and Residents were transferred. The renovations, while not extensive, were required to bring the space up to current standards. One of the reasons for the renovations was to allow flexibility in terms of beds available. It also provided the opportunity to apply for temporary long term care licenses with the Ministry. Yet, the onset of COVID-19, meant that there was a far greater urgency to reduce occupancy levels in hospitals. As such, the Corporation has partnered with Royal Victoria Regional Health Services to open the Mapleview wing as a transitional care unit. Mapleview has helped alleviate pressure on acute care beds; it has given the IOOF the opportunity to collaborate again with RVH and provide much needed beds to the community. IOOF SENIORS HOMES INC. VOLUNTEER SERVICES Many of the programs and services offered at the service for many of our Residents residing at Home, Heritage Place, Manor and the Terraces Heritage Place. at Heritage Square could not occur without the assistance of our generous volunteers.
