GITAM Excellence Meet ~Randy Phantom(don't put my name) The “GITAM Excellence Meet”, popularly denoted as “GEM”isanannualeventconductedbyGITAMInstituteof Management (GIM). This year, GEM 2013, received acclaimed success, probably the biggest GIM event in history. There were more than 3400 registrations, ranging from high school students all the way to post graduates.TherewasaFoodAddaconsistingofmorethan 20stalls.Thereweremorethan10stallsfeaturingfashion and related accessories. Getting the statistics out of the way, let's move on to something more exciting! First off, the publicity done by the organizers of GEM was done magnificently. We got a glimpseatwhatwecouldexpectatthefestevenbeforeit even started with all of those flash mobs. There were 3 flashmobsthattookplace:oneinCMR,oneonBeachRoad, infrontofYMCA,andonewithintheGITAMCampusitself. The one inside GITAM took place in front of the popular hangout,Tibb'sFrankie.However,settingupthespeakers took a while, which gave away the fact that people were goingtobreakoutinadance.Thisresultedintakingaway the “flash” from the “flash mob”. Hence, it was basically just a “mob”. Howerver, overall the publicity team did a greatjob.Almost,allofVizagknewofthefesttakingplace in GITAM. Couldn't expect anything less from management students.
