CanvabyPlOavniner Design Module 1 SUCCESS IN ACHIEVING GOALS LEADING TO THE #IMLGENERAL POINTS TO START GOAL SETTING by Carrie Reichartz
CanvabyPlOavniner Design01 Keep God at the front. Start with Prayer. Get quiet and let God speak to you. 02 Check Your Heart. Are your motives things God would support? Are they all personal to you or are they about changing the world in some way? 03 Categories. Family. Travel. Business/Ministry/Work. Finances. Health & Wellness. Spiritual Development. Time-bound (time-based, time-limited, time/cost limited, timely, time-sensitive). 05 Write it Down. Help us remember and keep focused. *42 percent more likely to achieve your goals if you write them down on a regular basis. *According to a Harvard Business study - only 3% of people write their goals down. 06 Partner Up. Include Others. Share the goals and work together.
07 Celebrate Along The Way. Celebrate as hard as you work! Don’t skip this! It is so important. The celebration is what keeps you going through the hard times. There will be hard times. Many hard times. If you don’t take the time to celebrate you will not be able to get through. 08 Dream Big. Big dreams turn us into big people. 09 Think Long. We tend to overestimate what we can do in 2 years and underestimate what we can do in 10. Whether you are 10 years old or 100 years old it's not too early and it's not too late. Whether it’s January, June, or November it’s the time! 10 Pray Hard. Helps us to recognize God-ordained opportunities. CanvabyPlOavniner Design01 What do you need to let go of to be successful in your goal setting? EXAMPLES: I want less complaining and more gratitude. I want less busyness and more impact. I want less Netflix and more focus on my family. I want less ___________________and more_______________________. I want less ___________________and more_______________________. I want less ___________________and more_______________________. I want less ___________________and more_______________________. Dig deep until you find one that really resonates with you. 02 Goal writing: Specific - simple, sensible, significant Time bound - time-based, time limited, time/cost limited, timely, time-sensitive Achievable - agreed, attainable Relevant - reasonable, realistic and resourced, results-based Measurable - meaningful, motivating **************************************************************************************************** Take these goals and write them on a “month at a view calendar”. Break it down into weekly and daily goals written out on your calendar. The goal needs to be on your daily to do list.
CanvabyPlOavniner Design03 General tips on achieving goals Spending 5 minutes or less per day can get you to your goal by the end of the year. 5 minutes while waiting for kid's lessons, while waiting for dinner to bake in the Insta-Pot, while you’re on the treadmill, even praying through things on your way to work. When you finish work today, make a note of what you will be doing tomorrow. If you have something specific you are more likely to get back to doing it. At the end of the first month review your progress. NO FAILURES. This is not about passing or failing. It is a time to make needed adjustments. Maybe you are taking on too much. Maybe you need to get more specific on your time. Or maybe you need to break the goal down into small parts. Maybe you need to put all your stuff into a travel page so you can take it with you on the go. 04 Partner with others on your goals: Write down and immediately reach out and start - partnering with others on similar goals. 05 Monthly, quarterly, yearly check ins. 06 Goals are about being intentional on your time, it is not about success or failure on the specifics Being intentional will bring you to where you want to be.
CanvabyPlOavniner Design Module #4 GUARANTEED SUCCESS IN ACHIEVING GOALS LEADING TO THE #IML VISION BOARDS by Carrie Reichartz
CanvabyPlOavniner Design NEEDED FOR THIS MODULE: Magazines to cut up Tagboard, poster board or pieces of paper to make boards Glue, tape Scissors Paper and a pen 01 Before starting in on the magazines and all that fun. Two things. A. I would suggest, but not require, that you have written your goals. That will help guide and direct you as you go through the magazines. B. Then do the following “OverNight Millionaire” exercise. You will need a pen and a piece of paper. To get to the point of dreaming and vision, we need to get out of the day-to-day life and limiting beliefs and thoughts. After you read this, close your eyes and think before you write. If you woke up this morning and found out you were a millionaire. What would life be like? What would you do with the money? How would your life change? What would you do for a living? Where would you travel? Would you donate to charity? If yes which ones? Would you spend more time doing hobbies? Would you move? Be specific. Close your eyes and think about this for a moment. Then open your eyes and write out on the piece of paper what life would look like. If that is not producing results for you. Close your eyes and think about what if you knew today was the last day of your life. How would you live it? What would you do with the day? Who would you spend it with? Like the song Live Like You Were Dying. How would you live if you knew you didn’t have much more time left?
CanvabyPlOavniner Design02 Then we move on to vision boarding itself. (This is the non-online example.) A. Hit the magazine pack. Rummage through them and rip out anything that stands out for you. Even if you are not sure why to cut it out. Keep going. Do this for at least an hour if not longer. As you rummage, think through the areas of your goals and cut things out in all the different areas. Family. Travel.. Finances. Health & Wellness. Spiritual Development. Emotional Development. Personal Development. Play/Creative. Business/Ministry/Work. B. Cut and trim the pages that you culled out to the size you would like them. C. Do a preliminary layout. Is your board big enough? Do you need to switch to several smaller boards for different areas of your life? You may need to let go of some of your pictures - maybe save them for next year or later in the year. D. Determine it will fit and how you want it tape or glue it to the board. You might want to add colored paper to the back of the board to make it pop more. I sometimes do an 8.5 X 11 piece of paper for each goal topic. ONLINE: If you want to try to do a vision board online, Canva is a good option. You can find YouTube videos on how to do that. I do prefer using my hands and paper for the head-to-heart connection, but if online is the way for you - go for it!
