2020: HOLDING ON TO GRATITUDE CENTER FOR INTEGRATED HEALTH PROGRAMS
Looking over 2020, we saw great highlights of hope and inspiration across the global health space. Amid the COVID-19 crises, healthcare providers gave their all. Some lost their lives. We mourn them. Others who have been swift, passionate and tireless in their work, we appreciate them for expressing those valued elements of compassion, the tenet of what makes a health care worker different. This year has seen an unbelievable loss of many lives across the world… some countries more affected than others, but each life meaningful and painful. Most were victims of the COVID-19 pandemic amongst other human sufferings. We deeply acknowledge the pain of their families and loved ones. We pray for God’s comfort at these times and embrace remembrance of loving memories of them all. Through the light we share in pursuing a safety-conscious world, we express our optimism to progress against all odds! We are immensely grateful for a whole lot more... for the emergence of a COVID-19 vaccine but very conscious of the need to close any disparities and make it available for all regardless of race and economy across the world! At CIHP, we are particularly thankful for the success stories across the communities we serve. We salute the courage and resilience of our frontline health care workers against all odds and challenges. Keeping the needs of our clients at heart, we salute our funders, technical and implementing partner colleagues for their profound support to the amazing cause for good health and wellbeing. We equally express special thanks to the government of Nigeria at all levels for enabling our operations. The priceless dedication of our staff and volunteers during the year enabling us to do ordinary things in extraordinary ways, we are truly grateful. We celebrate every CIHP staff for your resilience. We took COVID-19 in our stride and despite the number of staff who were infected, we are truly thankful that no life was lost, and everyone is on their way to recovery. The work remained paramount. You all rock!! For our clients, we kept the best for last. We really celebrate you all for individual decisions to be in charge of your health, ensure you keep your appointments and live well! Please stay safe and remember to keep all appointments in 2021! As the world continues to endure the unnerving realities of this “new normal”, we say a sincere and heartfelt thank you for 2020. We pray you all a safe and blessing-filled 2021. It is still a beautiful world. Strive to be happy!! Please, stay safe! Wear a mask at all times and maintain good physical distance.
