One big change for 2019 is, we have a new venue! It will be held at the Kyle United Methodist Church (408 W. Lockhart Street, Kyle, Texas 78640). 4

There are a few tickets left. Tickets can be purchased online here (link) at lodge on March 10 or by contacting Steven Cook. If you are unable to attend, but would like to support Live Oak #304, please consider buying tickets and donating them so we can invite a first responder or a veteran. To donate live or silent auction items and/or to purchase tickets, please contact brother Steven Cook at 512-262-8012 or e-mail [email protected]. Masonic Education Moment \"I would say there are three steps in Masonry. The first step is the ritual; the second step would be the fellowship to be taken and enjoyed; and the third step would be Masonic information for enlightenment or education.\" – William K. Bailey In honor of Texas Independence Day, we thought we'd share a fun tidbit about Masonry in Texas. Masonic historian Dr. James D. Carter counts twenty-two known Masons among the fifty-nine signers of the Texas Declaration of Independence, signed at Washington-on-the-Brazos on March 2, 1836. 5

This information was found on the Grand Lodge of Texas website where they recount the early beginnings of Masonry in Texas. You can see the full article, which is an excerpt from a book entitled Texas Masons by Pete Normand here. From The Secretaries Desk HOW TO DRESS FOR LODGE By Brother Eric L. Kolb Some years back Grand Master T. E. “Gene” Carnes put out a proclamation for all Lodges concerning dress in lodge. It has been adopted and accepted since. If you are attending an event at the Lodge that is to be a Called or Stated meeting, you are asked to dress for the occasion.  Closed toe shoes (no sandals)  Long pants (no shorts)  Shirt with a collar (no t-shirt) The Grand Master's thoughts were \"dress for the job you want.\" We say we are better men who try to live by a higher standard. So, when we gather together for stated or called meetings, let’s dress like it. Work or practice time wear what you want. Thanks for your time. 6
