Phrases in English Phrases (วลี) คือ คา หรือ กลุ่มคาต้ังแต่ 2 คาขึ้นไปที่นามาเรียงกันอย่างมีความหมายและทาหน้าท่ี ใดหน้าท่ีหนึ่งในประโยค เช่น ประธานของประโยค กริยาของประโยค กรรมของประโยค ส่วนเสริม หรือส่วน กริยาวเิ ศษณ์ โดยไม่มภี าคประธานและภาคแสดง วลีแบ่งออกเป็น 5 ประเภทใหญ่ ๆ คือ 1. นามวลี (noun phrase: NP) จะมีคานามเป็นหลกั เชน่ women with long hair 1.1 โครงสรา้ งของ noun phrase 1) NP → N cats 2) NP → PN Oscar 3) NP → Pro They 4) NP → Det N the cats 5) NP → Det Adj N the small cats 6) NP → Det Adj+ N the small green cats the small young green cats 7) NP → Det Adj+ N PP the small green cats in the kitchen 8) NP → NP Poss NP cats’ paw 9) NP → NP Conj NP cats and dogs 10) NP → NP+ Conj NP a doctor, a nurse and a dentist Determiners คือ คาทใ่ี ชน้ าหน้าคานาม คานามในภาษาองั กฤษ โดยเฉพาะคานามนบั ไดเ้ อกพจน์ จะตอ้ งมคี ากากบั นาม กากับอยู่เสมอ คานามหนึ่งคาอาจมีคากากับนามมากกวา่ หนึง่ คากไ็ ด้ แบง่ ออกเป็น 4 ประเภท ดงั นี้ 1.
