SWITCHING YOUR CONSTRUCTION BUSINESS INTO HIGH GEAR.UBM India successfully concluded the 4th edition of Concrete Show India (19th to 21st May 2016) with over150 Indian and global suppliers and manufacturers from across 10 countries and over 6500 trade visitors,amidst an industry showcase of products, solutions and services at the Bombay Convention and ExhibitionCentre, Mumbai.The event had a grand opening with a keynote address by Shri. S. M. Ramchandani, Joint ManagingDirector, Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Ltd. (MSRDC) and special address by ChiefGuest Shri. Eknath Sambhaji Shinde, Cabinet Minister, PWD (MSRDC, Public Undertaking), Government ofMaharashtra along with other key dignitaries – Shri. Gajanan Kirtikar, Member of Parliament (MP);Shri. Varun Sardesai, Youth leader; Dr. Manamohan R Kalgal, President, Indian Concrete Institute (ICI),Shri. N. A. Viswanathan, Secretary General, Cement Manufacturers Association (CMA) and Yogesh Mudras,Managing Director, UBM India amidst an august industry gathering.At the inauguration, Chief Guest Shri. Shinde highlighted that the Concrete Show India will help bring innewer technologies for the industry, which will add value to new projects being initiated at the state level.He also added that they would like Maharashtra to be the biggest contributor towards the 'Make in India'campaign.Infrastructure and construction industry representatives from China, Turkey, Germany, Korea, Italy, Japan,US and others visited Concrete Show India to gain insights pertaining to technology trends and marketmovements. The expo also included a series of knowledge sessions with key industry speakers fromrenowned companies such as L & T Construction, Gammon India Limited, Ambuja Cements Limited and MC-Bauchemie (India) Private Limited amongst others. The two day conference witnessed presentations ontopics such as Advances in Design Techniques for Reinforced Cement Concrete (RCC) Structures, SeismicDesign of Multi-storey Buildings, Modern Trends In Design, Elevated Structures, Underground Structuresand Tunnels, Inspection; Repair, Rehabilitation and Maintenance of Bridges and other Structures, amongstothers. The 2016 edition also featured key platforms including the Innovation Zone, Product Launch, andthe Concrete Man Challenge each of which were major successes.
