UNIC is the Information Centre through which the informationwill be disseminated to the world on the whole. The information published by UNIC is treated as a verse frombible; people believe what UNIC states. Members of UNIC shoulder a greater responsibility of keeping up facts,figures and ABCs of Journalism to ensure that no information is processed. Neutral/ diplomatic reports areencouraged by not involving any personal view into the situation or an event. In the global community,Journalists are treated with utmost respect and hence, it becomes our prime responsibility to keep up the name,fame and credibility of the work which we produce. We do not support any religion, political party, country oranything for that matter, our duty is to report the happenings and raise questions based on observations madeduring Committee sessions at the Press Conference.Roles and ResponsibilitiesCovering the Conference proceedings visually and textually is the foremost role of every member in UNIC. ABCs-(Accuracy, Brevity and Clarity) of Journalism are our priority during work and should maintain chronology ofreports and should begin with background information to support the report and make the readers work easy.Global citizens are our target audience who would read our newsletter, hence we should maintain decency interms of language and every minute detail has to be reported and checked again and again before submittingthe final draft of a copy. Plagiarism will be treated brutally and will lead to defamation and termination of thecandidate from UNIC. Each member of UNIC will be assigned a committee and you are not allowed to swap orchange anything without the prior permission of the Director of UNIC. You are not expected to even move outof the committee sessions unless it is needed.ReportersReporters are the face of UNIC, you are expected to conduct yourself well and do not indulge in any verbalarguments or fights with any delegates. Learn to respect their views and ideas by making a note of points whichyou want to raise. All the noted points and observations will be raised during Press Conference, and during pressconference, the delegates will have only one role, and that is to answer the questions raised by UNIC Members.Reporters are expected to be physically and mentally present in the committee sessions and cover every minutedetail. Putting all the noted details, reports are to be generated and sent to the editors. Each day, one report ismandatory and necessary as a submission from each reporter. Reporters are also expected to identify delegateswho are driving the committee session to its goal and motive and should interview such diplomats; interviewcopy also to be submitted and each reporter should submit one interview only from the whole conference.Maintaining notes of spoken words by delegates will help you prepare your copy later. UNAIC- 2018 Access of this content is limited to UNIC members onlyEditorsEditors primarily are expected to edit the reports and interview copies submitted by the reporters. Crosschecking facts and making necessary grammatical corrections should be of utmost concern. Re-writing is allowedonly by taking prior permission of the Deputy Director/ Director. Editors are responsible to maintain originalcopy and edited copy safe in the drive. After editing the copies, they are expected to intimate the DeputyDirector who further will edit and approve the copies submitted. Deputy Director has the power to scrap thecopy if it is not in the format, or not publishing worthy. No member will have any right to question such actions,but a feedback can be expected.The Director will choose one Editor who will be given an opportunity to write a 1000-word editorial copy whichwill be the jewel of the Newsletter published by UNIC under UNAIC 2018. Opportunity will be given to thehardworking and committed member of the team who has the potential to understand global politics and cangive their stance on any issue with research backing.Guest ArticlesAnother editor will be chosen based on the work delivered during day one. The role of the chosen editor isidentified potential observers in the conference and should conduct a Voxpop- Voice of People, where randomlydelegates, secretariat members and anyone attending the conference will be questioned about anything relatedto the conference and the responses are to be noted and later should be compiled into a fun-oriented one pagerwhich will go as a canter spread along with the display of numerous photos.Opinionated Editorials: Op-EdOp-Ed is often written by subject matter experts who are not associates of UNIC in any form. At UNAIC, SubjectMatter Experts can be members of Secretariat, Executive Board and College Professors. The Deputy Director isexpected to formally talk to the targeted members and should also help them with a topic if needed and anopinion piece of 500 word should be churned out. (Further details will be shared in person).PhotojournalistsThere is a fair difference between Photographers and Photojournalists. Photojournalists are expected tocompose newsworthy photographs and not merely delicate darling or love making photos. It can be a mix of allkinds of moments but prime focus is onto capturing newsworthy elements which can be used for the Newsletter.Minor editing is only allowed and over editing, plagiarism will lead to immediate termination of the candidate.5 best photos are to be submitted each day by each photojournalist.Personal favour: Capture your Director, Kalyan Raygalla where ever you find him during the Conference. This hasnothing to do with evaluation or the conference as such, just to be done as a personal favour.Cinematographers, Designers will have their roles and responsibilities explained in person.
