The study of this module enlightened the students with intricacies of research, methodology and sources to rely upon in terms of formal research. Research plays an important role in the industry and so, knowing the details of the same along with various stages and formatting becomes essential for the students to know and also memorize the structure for a smooth and better functioning. This book is a combination of Abstracts written by students of Semester V- Woxsen School of Arts and Design under the Module- Copyright and Documentation. With the mentorship of Kalyan Srinivas Raygalla (visiting faculty), this module progressed with an agenda of research understanding in practical sense. The whole idea of research in the academia or industry is replicated here in the classroom with a narrowed down approach where students have taken topic or hypothesis which has a microscopic approach in terms of the scope, so that, in a given time span of 9 working days, their research will shape into a formal study; which in-deed is the case. iii

IS HUMANITY A MIRAGE? PARV PRANJAL Department of Visual Communication, Woxsen School of Arts and Design The most basic value of a human being is that of humanity. Humanity as we describe it, means the traits of love, compassion, dignity, service and harmonious living. Despite the fact that conflict and destruction are also part of human nature, what society has seen since its evolution is that humanity has survived in a huge way without ever raising a question about its existence. But what we see today is large scale destruction of basic human values. Cruelty, selfishness, unethical race for power and money, indifference towards other people’s needs or problems - these have become so pronounced that one wonders if humanity is just a mirage. But, at the same time, what can’t be ignored is the efforts of individuals who do not even hesitate to give up their lives in order to serve the human race and even animals. Through this paper, it would be my endeavor to try and find out the reality and see if humanity still exists in a sizeable number of people.
