Mr. Obiglio previously served as a PowerGen Board member for the period July 2006 to August 2007. He served as Chairman of the Management Committee of PowerGen in the past, and he is currently the Chairman of Jamaica Public Service, an investor-owned electric utility in Jamaica. He first became a part of PowerGen family in August 2007 when he was appointed as Board Director. Unveiling of the PowerGen Theatre at UTT’s NAPA Campus The PowerGen Theatre at the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT)’s campus at the National Academy of the Performing Arts (NAPA) was unveiled on September 22nd 2017. The theatre, which was opened in 2011, was renamed as part of a ceremony to recognise PowerGen’s donation to UTT. The UTT campus at NAPA, serves 228 students refining their prowess in the areas of acting, dance, theatre and music. The donation was utilised to assist in specialist lighting among other things, to make the venue a world-class production studio and stage for creative projects in music and the performing arts. In his remarks, Chairman of PowerGen’s board, Mr. Keith Sirju, quoted former U.S. President, John F. Kennedy who said, “If art is to nourish the roots of our culture, society must set the artist free to follow his vision wherever it takes them.” Culture is deeply rooted in this country and the performing arts define our national identity. PowerGen shares n Tuesday 12th DecemberChristmas cheer withcommunity outreach O2017, PowerGen hosted its Annual Community Relations Children’s Treat at the Chaguanas branch of Chuck- E-Cheese. One hundred and fifty (150) children and their teachers from schools across Trinidad were treated to a day of fun, with special host Chuck- E-Cheese ensuring all the children got into the Christmas spirit. The children were treated to fun snacks such as Popcorn, Cotton Candy and Ice Cream and each child also received a gift and a party bag. Members of the Community Relations Committee were delighted to share in the spirit of giving. It was indeed a pleasurable moment for members of the Committee who worked together to ensure that the event was a success.Community 24Year EndHampers 2017As part of PowerGen’s philanthropicactivities, ninety (90) hampers weredistributed to the less fortunate familiesin communities surrounding our variouslocations. AdministrativeProfessionals Week2017Over the years, Administrative Professionals Week has becomeone of the largest workplace observances. The event is celebratedworldwide through community events, social gatherings, and individualcorporate activities recognizing support staff with gifts. SMILES GALORE 30 30AT POWERGEN’S CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PARTY There were smiles galore on Sunday 26th November 2017 when PowerGen hosted its Annual Children’s Christmas Party for approximately five hundred and sixty (560) of our employees’ children and relatives at FunStation, Gulf View, La Romaine. There were many exciting games available indoors and also fun activities outdoors, such as Bouncy Castles, Toddler’s Play Area and Rock Climbing. Each child also received a gift and a party bag and were treated to fun snacks such as Popcorn, Cotton Candy and Ice Cream. Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, Minions and Iron Man thrilled the children and host of party, Aunty Nikki provided the laughs and entertainment. PowerGen’s Employee Relations Committee was heartened to share in the Christmas joy for both our employees and their precious children and relatives.
