In a far away land, there lived a little girl. Her Granny gave her a special gift. It was a red cloak with a red hood attached to it. 2
She loved it so much that she wore it often. So, everyone started calling her Little Red Riding Hood. 3
One day, Little Red Riding Hood’s mother asked her to take a basketful of goodies to Granny, who lived across the forest. 4
“Go straight to Granny’s cottage and DO NOT talk to strangers on your way,” warned Mother. But Little Red Riding Hood was not really listening. 5
Little Red Riding Hood set off to the forest. She had not gone very far, when a bad wolf stopped her on the way. He offered flowers and tried to make friends with her. 6
“You are a lovely little girl! Where are you going?” asked Wolf softly. “I am visiting Granny. Her cottage is behind those trees”, replied Little Red Riding Hood. And she continued on her way. 7
Wolf was VERY hungry. He wanted to eat Little Red Riding Hood and Granny too. He took a short cut and reached Granny's cottage before Red Riding Hood. 8
He knocked at the door. “Who’s there?” called Granny. “It’s me” said Wolf, trying to sound like Little Red Riding Hood. Granny was taking rest. “Open the latch and come in,” she called. Wolf quickly got in and grabbed Granny and stuck her in the closet. Then he put on one of her nightgowns and climbed in her bed. 9
Soon Little Red Riding Hood arrived. “Hello Granny! I have brought you some goodies,” she said as she went right up to the bed. 10
“Goodness, Granny! What a big nose you have!” exclaimed Little Red Riding Hood. “To sniff you dear,” said Wolf. “Goodness Granny! What big eyes you have! ” “To see you better dear,” said Wolf. 11
“Goodness Granny! What big teeth you have!” cried Little Red Riding Hood. “To eat you with, dear,” growled Wolf as he jumped out of bed to attack Little Red Riding Hood. 12
Little Red Riding Hood screamed and began to run around the cottage, with Wolf chasing her. ‘Help!” yelled Little Red Riding Hood. 13
A forest officer, who was passing by, heard the cries. He dashed inside the cottage. 14
Brave Little Red Riding Hood picked up a burning stick from the fireplace. She drove Wolf out of the cottage with the help of the forest officer. 15
Little Red Riding Hood opened the closet to let Granny out. Granny thanked the officer. They happily sat and ate goodies together. 16 2165/1
