by the JULY NUMBER$ “There’s no other way to say it…July was a rough month. We funded $50 million in production, which was our lowest month in a very long time” said Rick as he started his Coffee with Cardillo call. He continued, “but it is important to note that this is an industrywide issue and not specific to Castle & Cooke”. In fact, Rick explained how many other mortgage lenders have struggled recently to make ends meet with the slowdown in production. Including several lenders going out of business or closing down an entire channel to offset heavy losses. “The good news is that we are built to weather this storm and have several strategies in play to make sure we continue to be well positioned for the months ahead.” Rick brought up some positives from our July results: • 80% of our funded production were purchase transactions which is our greatest strength. • 26% of our funded production were government loans, which is a trend we believe will likely continue and is good for our bottom line as government loans carry a higher revenue than conventional. • Majority of our July loans have been sold as service released because that brings more cash to the company, which is important right now. Moving forward, our overall strategy will continue to be keeping the retention of the loan servicing as much as we can in the future. • Rick also highlighted that some of our key August indicators were favorable in hopes that we will have a rebound month where we are already seeing signs of interest rate stability and an increased housing inventory…two very important factors for the normalization of our business. “We know what we need to do to get through this current environment” Rick stated as he continued with his transparent detail of the company’s plans. “We have done a very good job of cutting costs to ease the pain of less revenue. We are looking to sell a small portion of our servicing to generate cash that will keep us in a strong financial position. We are developing new product opportunities to help our originators grow back their businesses. And we are strategically adding new originators and branches that we expect to bring additional revenue to the company”. Rick finished his call by thanking everyone companywide for working so diligently through adversity and again called for the team to work together as we fight the headwinds that the industry is facing.

Denver, CO We were able to volunteer a few hours (2-8 pm) of our time to assist families in need at the Ronald McDonald House – Denver. We had the privilege of preparing a delicious dinner – salad, orange chicken, egg rolls, rice, and cookies! Serving the families at the Denver House Location was such a pleasure! To give them a home-cooked meal that they could enjoy with their children and family members was great! And to observe smiles of gratitude as they share their courageous stories with us, it was a pleasure to help them with taking dinner plans off their to-do list.
