TAW’s NOVELEA™ collection is tanned using Natural Vegetable extracts like Wattle (Mimosa), Myrobalan and Chestnut trees making it a truly Organic Veg Tanned Leather Collection. Natural Organic Mimosa Tanning Vegetable Tanning The Mimosa tanning extract is derived from the wattle (mimosa) bark bark of the Black Wattle tree, a species of Acacia grown in South Africa. These rapidly growing trees contain high levels of tannin in their bark that are found ideal for tanning hides. Myrobalan Tanning taw ™ The Myrobalan extracts are derived from the fruits of the Myrobalan tree. Rich in hydrolysable tannins (pyrogallic) and very wattle bark extract astringent and with good light fastness, these trees are found in vast forest expanses in India. These extracts give leather a uniform color and a soft touch. Chestnut Wood Tanning using Renewable Resources Tannins obtained from chestnut wood, are of a myrobalan fruit pyrogallol nature and are easily hydrolysable. from NATURE Chestnut tanned leathers are elastic, lightfast, resistant to traction and abrasion and have good color.
